He played almost 22 minutes off the bench, which is the role and playing time I'd prefer him having this season. I understand our need for more offense from the starting lineup but I don't think moving Budinger into the starting lineup is the solution. For this season, give him around 9 shots a game like tonight and let him improve his defense going against second units. And Wade is, well, Wade. He was scoring off everyone - Battier, Ariza and when we went small, Kyle Lowry.
eric spoulster was coachin his behind off callin all those time outs and postin up richardson and wade when they had smaller players on them.
Morey and Rick have outsmarted all of you! Morey brought Ariza in to help tank without looking like we are tanking. Rick runs the team in the ground to help them tank!
After tonight's game, getting dalembert would no be such a bad idea. We need some form of shot blocking in the middle.
Seriously I don't think we should wait till trade deadline to make a trade, the player we need may be gone by then. The team may need a fresh body to get them going again. Sometimes a change of scenery can help inspire a player. Thinking a scorer would help?
His contract expires in 2011, and he does average 2.2 bpg and 9 rpg in 25 minutes per game while shooting 52% from the field and 84% from the free throw line.
It was really a combination of offense and defense. When our top scorer in Brooks is outscored by Rafer, and Landry is held to 5 points on 2-8 shooting, and the team has 15 turn overs while allowing the other team to shoot 53.6% then you are usually going to loose. Especially with Wade going off for 37 on 15-24 shooting. The Heat defense had our offense looking really out of sync most of the night. Budinger had a nice shooting night, but his defense still has a long ways to go. His +/- was -15 for the game, which was 2nd worse only to Landry's -16.
didnot get to see the game,, just look at the stats,,, what's up with landry? dude has not been playing well since how many games now?
Though I like almost everyone in this team, I do not like Coach RA. His style always seems too lazy to my liking. He uses the same lineup at the same period of the game night in and night out. He refuses to call timeouts when the other team is pulling it away. He always seems late in countering the other coach's action. Like many of you, I do not understand why Chase Budinger couldn't play a little longer tonight. When your rockets was down by 9 with 1 minute left, why couldn't you take a foul to show you still care? One of TMac's moment, the 13 points miracle would not have happened, if the rockets were under Coach RA because he would be too lazy to call out a foul. When Wade and O'neil were doing whatever they wanted in the paint, why couldn't Dorthy see a few minutes just to stop one or two layups? It seems that Coach RA thinks that he has little impact on the court. When the guys hustle their butt off on the court, the coach absolutely does not. Sometimes I scratch my hair off wondering why such a laid-back guy is the right one for a group hardworking guys who give it all out in every outing.
That's a short term solution for this year. But we are not going anywhere with or without Dalembert. The problem lies after this season. With Iggy and Dalembert, Rockets would reach LT without both Scola and Lowry signed. That means we could lose both for nothing this off season and next season once Yao comes back, Dalembert becomes a 12mil backup. I'd rather see Rockets use that 12 mil on Scola and Lowry next season.
defense has been a problem all season, and points havent been a problem as much...you got it backwards..
i guess this means the end for us, since the season ends this month....wait a minute, WE HAVE ALMOST 3 MONTHS LEFT...and those 3 months will be easier than the first 3. Technically our "horrible schedule" just ended like 2 games ago and the team may still be feeling the effects of it, give him a week or two for them to re-charge, not necessarily physically, but mentally as well...get more practices in, some home cookin, make love to their women, and they'll be ready to go...
Agreed, our guys weren't fatigued. Once the Heat gained ascendancy, pressure built up and we lost our ability to make a comeback.
Agree. The defense has really been slipping... I think Morey touched on this the other day that the team has exceeded expectations offensively but is behind where they expected it to be defensively. Last 5 games, opponents are shooting 49.1% (41% from three) and scoring 109 points a contest. That's a high line of water that your offense has to tread to even be in the game. Rockets are 2-5 this month. The first half -- was this Carl Landry's worst half of basketball this season? Still, they did just play a triple overtime game on the tail end of a back-to-back... you have to give them a pass, even though this was one of the easier games this month.
