Why is the rum always gone?

I don't recommend it at all these days... or you may end up stumbling around like Jack.

    rum: Havana Club!
    gin: Hendricks
    whiskey: Irish=Jameson, American=Bookers, Scottish=anything single malt
vodka=Stoli, but anything will do as long as it isn't cheap swill
tequila=Herradura, but most tequilas that aren't either mass marketed crap (Cuervo) are fine.

Mixing whiskey with anything other than sour is just wrong, and it should only be done with cheap whiskey. I generally avoid mixed drinks.

    Irish - Powers
Scotch - Glenmorangie 18 rare malt and Macallan 25. Both not really affordable.
Bourbon - Knob Creek and Makers Mark
    Rye - Old Potrero
    Tequila - Herradura Anejo
Vodka - most any, but only soaking in Zing Zang bloody mary mix
    Rum - not really

enjoying a bone-dry Tito's martini now, w/ a twist, lovely- it's got a touch of sweetness to it, which i assume comes from the corn. also a good deal- it was $20/bottle from the folks on my block, the oldest wine store in the country.

    Rum-Bacardi
    Whiskey-J-Walker Red Label
Vodka-Kinda like Grey Goose, but it's way too expansive to be a favorite. Probably stick with good ol cheap Smirnoff on this one.

Baileys over everything though, don't care about the categories.

Bacardi Spiced Rum, Cashier hurt my feelings when she said this the cheap stuff. Nothing gives me a good quality fine buzz like this one. I mix this with diet orange soda or diet coke.

I don't really drink, but I find 1921 Tequila Crema to be quite tasty. Tried it on vacation in Mexico.

Gin is superior to all. Last handful of times I've been out to the bars I've stuck with Seagram's and 7up
