I really doubt Miami trades Wade away, I think one of the reason's to get McGrady is so they can keep Wade, there's better chance of them trading Beasley

and IF some miracle it were to happen, It just doesn't feel right giving a max contract to a guy(Wade) who will be 29 yrs old in next yrs playoffs(at best will have a two to three year window, with Wade)...IMO its not worth it, I'de rather go after Bosh & Philly trade.....

The spurs gave away scola because they wanted to unload jackie butler contract that kept them near lux tax land and they were drafting another euro to stash(splitter). They didn't like the idea of a 4 that couldn't really space the court. In the end, didn't they win a title anyway?

The oden over durant has 0 to do with this. They still drafted the player they though was number 1, won 50 games last year and are on pace to do the same despite the injuries. The year before the injuries, the rockets won 50+ games and had a top defense with david wesley playing the 2. Now if exiting the 1st rd a couple years in row makes us a better team, ok, if thats your expectations. The ariza signing and artest trade was a result of not having enough scoring, something that #8 pick could've been. Now, if you don't think it would have and the teams upside would be better or higher now, so be it. I guarantee you that Rudy Gay can get you more than anyone on houston team with maybe the exception Brooks or maybe landry.

If you read the article it said Morey had to convince les it would be a good idea to trade for shane. CD for all his faults always took the high upside players for the most part.

I've said contrary to posting, i really like scola. Maybe I think he's hit his ceiling, but he maximizes what he has. If he had come over 2 yrs earlier, he would be a 8m players vs a 5.5 maybe 6m guy.

Leeb, that's not why I made my post. It was in response to "They didn't like the idea of a 4 that couldn't really space the court." I'd like to know where you saw that.

If it is, it's just for one year since Dalembert and Caron's contract's will end in 2011 and they're becoming valuable trading assets next year if it doesnt works.

That's the perfect scenario for Houston if all these Iguo and Caron rumors are true.

An NBA source confirmed that the Sixers and Rockets have had discussions about Tracy McGrady. Houston is looking to deal McGrady and his expiring $23 million contract by the Feb. 19 trade deadline. An ESPN.com story Tuesday claimed the Sixers "hinted at a package of (Andre) Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert for McGrady," though the source said the Sixers "didn't hint."

So McGrady for Iggy and Dalembert???

This is old news. But when they say "didnt hint", they mean that is the deal that is being offered, AI9 and SD for TM. But as I keep saying, don't expect this deal to happen. If it does, it will be because there is a 3rd team found to acquire SD or Philly doesn't include him at all. Otherwise, I wouldn't expect such a deal to happen.

Time for Les to pony up and pay the luxury tax next year.

He has gotten atleast 20 million from insurance proceeds.
    (McGrady 23 million x 1/2 season x 80% + Yaos 15 million x 80%)

Bite the bullet, get Bosh and Iggy and lets move forward. Team will be crazy competitive and when Chris Paul demands his trade, offer up Yao and let the dynasty begin.

If its old my fault. Haven't really seen too much lately on McGrady other than "he is ready"

I wouldn't expect this deal to happen because AI is young. Can still improve. Why would Philadelphia give up their franchise star for a guy who is at the end of his career?? This trade shouldn't even have been thought of.

You realize the other teams have to agree to the trade, too, right?

Hmm I like it!!! not sure how this would affect the Bosh trade though....

But like I posted before, I really want Philly to include Jrue Holiday, with the Iguodala and Dalembert deal, because we are taking in some pretty long contracts while they get to rebuilt their team...

Scola understands the defense, the rotations, and does a nice job defending the p&r; but often he lets the opponent score next to him, because he has not the jump, the length, the height to annoy. He doesn't intimidate penetrators, nor bother the big men shots.

As for the Lakers trio, we talk about players known for their inconsistent effort: Gasol, Odom, Bynum... Of course when our players play their best and they don't, we can compete against them and even beat them, but I still have the feeling that we are and will always be the underdogs in these pairings. When they play their best, they dominate, examples are the playoff games in L.A. or last game this season, and that is a problem, they dominate the paint. I don't want to be always the underdog.
