    I don't know how much gooder they would be smh, but they certainly would be "better" if ariza was playing gooder. :cool:

    I was torn on which of the gooder two options to vote for.


    "30-7" or "I love Tracy McGrady". I ended up voting 30-7 because, clearly it's Ariza's fault T-Mac doesn't have a spot on the roster, so T-Mac automatically makes this team 30-7. No doubt.

    I'm sure even Ariza wants Ariza's minutes reduced. But Ariza is a decent finisher (accept in the half court), and plays good defense. He gives Battier some relief from playing the other team's best offense, thus letting Battier play some offense.

    No doubt he's a better sidekick then leading man, but we don't have any of those right now. If Bud can't get a little better, we'd be able to move Ariza to the bench.

    Which FA do you wish we had gotten instead of Ariza?

    With McGrady playing instead of Ariza, we probably would be 25-14 right now.

    It's not fair to assume that the MLE money wouldn't be spent. If Ariza stayed on the Lakers, the Rockets would have either retained Artest, or gone after Chris Anderson, Brandon Bass, or Channing Frye. Last year's FA class was pretty bad.

    Anderson has the best talent and would have provided a lot of benefit for the Rockets, but I'm not sure if he would have left the Nuggets, even for more money. But he might have come because it's hard to turn down $6million dollars more.

    So I can see the following team play just as well, if not better:

    Brooks Lowry
    Mac Buddinger
    Battier Taylor
    ScoLandry
    Anderson Hayes Andersen

    They could have still gone after Anderson with the MLE. ARiza did not take the MLE, he took the Yao Injury exception.

    If they wanted Anderson at all, they would have just spend MLE on him instead of apart of it on Andersen. Rockets could have had both Ariza and Anderson. I am pretty sure it's their choice not to go after Anderson, either due to price or knowing he's gonna stay in Denver.

    Of course it's all speculation, but do you really think that would have sat still if Ariza re-signed with the Lakers? I really don't know...but I think Anderson would have been seen as an alternative (assuming all the internal anti-Artest sentiment is true).
