He gained some weight and thats normal for those types of surgeries. Yao looks fine to me, spending his time off-court but when the time comes for rehab I'm sure he will put his mind to it. He is a proven hard worker, no doubt about that...
He said he can now get rid of his crutches and walk normally for short distances like 50 meter, but for anything longer than 50 meter, per doctor's advice, he has still to rely on his walking crutches.
