The singer's son, Teddy Pendergrass II, says his father died Wednesday at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Pendergrass' son says his father underwent colon cancer surgery eight months ago and had "a difficult recovery." The elder Pendergrass was injured in a car accident in 1982. He suffered a spinal cord injury and was paralyzed from the waist down. this probably isn't appropriate but here goes anyway back in the day when jim rome's show was cool, there was one caller from LA but I can't remember his name. anyway, when it came out that Dr J had that illegitimate kid who was a very good tennis player, the caller on jim rome said that dr j had the affair when he and his wife were having problems. the rumor is that dr j's wife was in the car with teddy when he became paralyzed.
