Agreed with limiting his minutes he and Battier are redundant players. Trade one of them and give more minutes to Buddinger.

He flat out sucks. He will be nothing more than a spot up shooter/slasher and maybe, just maybe, somewhat of a defensive stopper.

He decision making in crunch time is devastating to say the least.

    Woah, woah, woah.

So what you're saying is, he might become exactly what we brought him in for?

    Crazy thought.

As long as he doesn't play in crunch time. Even at this time he isn't exactly making the spot up open shots he should be making or was expected to make. And let's not even talk about his atrocious free throw shooting.

only on offense, i never yell at my own team at a game, but i literally could not help myself when trevor had like 3 plays in a row where he fked it up and i just shouted "that a boy trevor!" the ladies next to me kept saying shoot the ball when he touched it i looked at them like they were crazy.

when he doesn't have to focus on being a creator than he extremely valuable, but seriously, STOP SHOOTING SO MANY FRIGGIN THREES!

you aren't going to play battier 48 min a game, and for teams that have 2 good perimeter scorers we can really use both guys. don't trade either, keep the same damn team and just add yao and whoever we can afford in FA. you need more than 5 guys, so having two wing defenders that can't score is not redundant it's smart, i really hope morey leaves this team alone and gives it a chance next year

I have to say he needs to have his minutes cut in half, what do you guys think about Ariza put as a back up as opposed to starting? And if so, who would you start?

I would LOVE to swap Ariza and Budinger. The problem is that Ariza would throw a ****fit. I'm sure they'd try to show him that he's shooting the ball at an epic, historically bad rate, but he's too ******* stupid to understand that he is a mediocre basketball player at his ceiling. Not to mention the guy has an attitude and sense of entitlement since he came here to "grow as a player".

I've given up any chance on this guy becoming even decent on the offensive side of the ball. His defense doesn't really do it for me either. I've been certain from day 1 that he wasn't going to become a star player like some had hoped. He hasn't even blossomed into someone worth the MLE, IMO. That mostly stems from the fact he attempts to play like (and is allowed to by the coaches) a max player. Watching him try to be a first, second, or even third option makes me ill. I'm not even going to get into his ballhandling or passing abilities because that's just too obvious.

I now can say I hate him. The hate is full grown. I want him traded or coming off the bench. I didn't even hate Rafer. Mostly because the guy was solid in other areas besides shooting, and was left really, really open. Trevor usually is not.

GOD HE SUCKS SO MUCH IT HURTS

I hate him in the context of basketball and this Rockets team. It's like how you can hate the taste of a certain kind of pizza. You may hate it, but it's still relative to other kinds of pizza. You don't have the same hate for that pizza as someone who killed your parents. Get it? I hate Trevor Ariza as he pertains to our team, and basketball, and my eyes as I watch him play basketball.

    Don't hate the haters !

Seriously, I have seen growth from him....and not so much in his skills, they are still lacking, but in his demeanor and recognizing where he fits on the team.

I think he has finally realized that he is NOT top dog, and is defering more to AB and Landry.......

Which is great......he should, they are the best offensive players on this team.

I just don't think hate, when speaking in regards to another person, is the right word to use. I understand that you do not care for his play on the court, but a word like "hate", I think is a little strong regardless of how it's explained.

It's just me being me, I am VERY picky when using such a strong word like hate. In my eyes, the Nazi's hated the Jews, the KKK hates non-whites, etc. That's hate.

Yeah, that sounds like a personal problem to me. You'd be better off not assuming everyone means every word in the way that you imagine it. Most people use the word pretty freely, and often in the context of something not that serious.

    This^^^

His first year on a new team, the dude is 24, his minutes have probably more than doubled from one season to the next. He was being asked to take those shots, and now, like DD said, his shot frequency seems to have decreased. He HAS been deferring more to Brooks, and Landry is getting more minutes/points/shots as well.

No reason to hate the guy, he's learning. He doesn't look like he is just flat out stupid, so just give it a little time.

Personal problem? No, not really. Just when someone is writing something, either on paper, or in a forum, it's often easy to misunderstand how they mean it. I don't assume everyone means anything, but when I read through your post, that's the feeling that I got.

Don't take it personal man, it was just an observation, incorrect or not.

I am now turning off the games for a few minutes at a time thanks to Trevor. Just a few days ago, I was watching Trevor specifically for his mini-tantrums and the hope that he would try to cheap shot another young player who picked his pocket. Now, he just sorta ruins everything for me. I really find it painful any time he touches the ball so I have to change the channel.

It isn't fair to Rafer Alston to compare Trevor Ariza to him. Rafer was a horrible shooter. Ariza is a horrible offensive player in general.

Last night is the first time I noticed Trevor working with the team and deferring to Aaron and Landry. Maybe there is hope yet!
