I'd never give up the Catomic bomb. With Dawson training Kelvin this offseason there is a good chance he'll play like he did in the preseason. Even if he doesn't he is still a good fit in this Rockets system. ------------------ THE DEAN HAS WRITTEN
i agree with the DEAN i think to many people are wanting us to trade cato but im not sure the only way i would give up cato is if we get a center in return or in another deal i dont see that happening.during last preseason kato impressed alot of rockets fans and i think the fans expectations were a little to high, you no he wasnt even really meant to get that much playing time at all,we sighned him for after hakeem was gone, but he was rushed. if the rockets want to get back to the finals in the (hopefully) near future WE WILL have to go through la and that means shaq, and kato plays defense on shaq as good as you can hold him i think by the end of next season cato will avg. a double-double. ------------------

I think it's too early to give up on Cato. We really can't do much better without giving up someone that we really don't need to give up. The pressure's on him to show and prove. I'm sure he'd like to shake the bad rep of not having enough desire. ------------------ RocketFuel is taking the summer off! [This message has been edited by SpaceCity (edited June 08, 2000).]
I would only trade cato if we were sending drew along with him and getting marion and longly in return. Cato&drew-----Marion&longly ------------------
The only way I trade Cato is if we get a center (kandi) and a top pick in this years draft or next years draft. ------------------
GIVE UP ON CATO. Take anyone, at any position who has proven themselves to be a reliable player. We need more people we can count on. That's what the Rockets were thinking with Walt, but no can do. We need consistancy out of a couple of people on the floor every night. Cato does NOT do that. Probably won't either. Same goes for K. Thomas. ------------------
Trading Kelvin Cato for Rodney Rogers would be a MAJOR blunder. The West is strong enough as it is, the last thing we need is another legit contendor. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
Okay so there's no question about Cato's ability, but the real dobts lie over his commitment. I personally feel that for most of the games last season his heart wasn't in it, and if he doesn't want to be here then maybe we should look to move him like we did with Pippen and if Phoenix want to be so kind as to offer us a decent forward then I say take it. ------------------
