Why Morey should make a trade sooner rather than later

It's because of games like last night, that has been the current trend in their losses. Especially the one to the Hornets in New Orleans. There just isn't that big of a margin of error for this team. Yes, the West is wide open, barring the Lakers get healthy, but this team should not be losing to the Bobcats EVER! Whatever trade they make, Ariza should be in it. I don't care that this is his first year here. It has been 38 games and he is still pressing. Size should also be coming in a trade, that is why Iggy/Dalembert would be an ideal package because Dalembert can block shots while Iggy can provide on offense, at least better than Ariza, but who can't? Those clamoring for Kevin Martin seems to be more fragile than Yao and T-Mac combined. This team needs a scorer, but the defense should be a higher priority because Budinger could provide scoring if Ariza was benched. Caron Butler would also fit in nicely, but again, we need size coming along with him. Now, a Butler, Haywood package would be nice. But this team will continue to lose gimmies unless a trade is made soon.

He should only make a trade IF it helps the Rockets, whether now or later.

Nope, if he makes a trade that hurts the team, he is gonna hear about it.

    Blah, blah, blah.

You're missing one key detail: there are no known trades on his desk to make.

Everything about Iguodala, Martin, Butler, and Bosh is conjecture and rumor. None of them are concrete or real. You can say he SHOULD make a trade now, but a trade must exist to be made. Currently, none exist. Everything is rumor.

    Stop confusing fiction with fact.

I think there are trades that exist..
But of course none that Morey sees fit for US.

I'm sure Arenas for Mcgrady still exists.

    I second that DD,

We should only make a trade to better our team and for the future. Making a trade to just settle should not even be considered.

Im sure Morey will only make the team better, I just wish we knew already instead of this trade deadline which seems so far away.

I don't think it will help us, I think we will be in the same scenario as before when we had Tmac.

Don't want any distraction and boy does arenas have distraction his way.

This. Gotta think about the long run, man. I'm looking towards the next five years. Not just this season. Daryl Morey isn't CD. He won't make a move that hurts us just to win a few extra games this season.

This is exactly the kind of short-sighted thinking that Morey should avoid.

    NO....and NO.

You're being short sighted. We're not hangin a banner this year. We could land any one of thes rumored players and we still wouldnt. We have two big holes, perimeter scoring and a big man and that's not going to be plugged in a trade these days, except for dalembert and iggy, which still may notget us a ring thisyear, but definitely ruins us next year.

Morey needs to get the most he can out of tmac, period. Whether that's now or later this season is irrelevant, as long as it's the best deal available.

by the way, incase u didnt notice we've had a tough shcedule so far, it gets easier for now on.

The only way he gets a superstar free agent is to trade for him. Bosh is that target, and they will want the world for him. Letting McGrady expire is stupid because it nets you nothing in the offseason, trading for Haywood, Butler, and Miller would be good because both Haywood and Miller are one year deals to see if they can fit in

Obviously, but unlike you it seems that RocketMania 1991 feels it's not a bad idea.

As long as Ariza is on this team, NOTHING is easy

You're guessing. I prefer not to be an armchair GM and basing my opinions on guessing.

Have the Wizards offered Butler up? Beats me, but there's been no official word. Iguodala's actually been refuted as having been offered by a source for some Philly website. And Bosh... well, Toronto has pretty much said it's very unlikely he'll be dealt.

Again, the ability to discern fact from fiction is a good trait to have if you want to be a decent armchair GM.

no one said it would be. championships arent easy. It's going to do them some good to face some adversity, some tough games, some tough stretches. Ariza isn't a cancer, he's just a good player trying to make up for the loss of two great players. That's never going to look good, period.
