If you can hear properly you would've have heard T-Mac saying "I feel like this is my team, how far we go, is on me". It's just how he felt. Again, you can't have it both ways. Either,
    1) T-Mac felt that it was on him that the team didn't make it out of the first round and that he felt he was 100% ready to play were both true

    or

    2)Both were false.

I am by no mean a T-Mac fan, I just can't stand people selectively using T-Mac's words against him. Personally, I don't take his words for both statement. It was never on him because the Rockets out-right sucked, and he wasn't 100% ready to play.

if he gets traded to the knicks.... he might win a championship with them. i would hate to see mcgrady go to ny and explode. and judging by our city's sports teams history, every time we let something good go, it gets better on the next destination.

I believe he is ready, and just needs time to get completly confident and comfortable with his knee.

I don't think him not being on the Rockets has anything to do with his knee etc, and everything to do with his prefered style of play, and his expiring contract.

The team can not afford to step back and let him dominate the ball, they have seen that movie and they know it leads to an early exit from the theater.

And, Tracy has had enormous success playing "His way"...so I can't blame him for wanting to do what is comfortable either.

To me, this is just a situational deal related to contract and style of play.

Nothing but a business decision made by both parties.

The Rockets made it out of the first round last year.

    No T-Mac.

    1. Exactly. So many people do not get that. It has nothing to do with the injury.

    2. Umm. I guess...:(

so now the rockets playoff failures are because of style of play ? funny i thought it was because lack of talent and athletic players.

but i guess since we beat a team in the 1st round last year that we have owned for years the "style of play" is what made the difference.

lol get real. the only thing the rockets have needed with tmac/yao is better talent surrounding them, PERIOD.

This is undeniably true. The greatest failure of the TMac-Yao era is that by the time the role players were good enough, the era was already over. Pity.

Yeah I have to agree, give a healthy Yao/T-mac the current roster of role players, and I think they win the championship IMO....

Yes, when the guy shooting 27 shots a game misses as often as Tracy does, it is not conducive to winning in the playoffs.

If he were more efficient then sure....and occasionally he will get hot and the team will win, but then the old law of averages catches up and they fail in the playoffs.

You can't be a VOLUME shooter and win, IMO....you have to be efficient....

Tracy really stopped playing like Tracy over the past couple years. He was most dangerous when attacking the basket. Obviously he can make jump shots, but he isn't a jumpshooter. When he started getting lazy/hurt, he settled for outside jumpers. That's not his game.

    Yep.

You take this team, and put the 04 TMAC and Yao on it, and we are steam rolling the NBA.

yeah people forget in the game 7 L in the 06-07 playoffs tracy getting 29 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assist, 3 blocks and yao scoring 29 points as well but rafer going 3-11 and our bench getting outscored 17-10

    but it's tracy's fault

Let's take a look at that game, here is the box score

Tracy and Yao took a combined 45 out of a total of 73 shots....to me, that is a lot of the problem, right there.

If the other team only has to guard 2 players in a tight game, it is to their advantage.

    I don't want people taking 25 shots a game....I would rather have 5 guys taking 14+ shots a game....

A varied approach allows for a better outcome IMO.
