Conan O'Brien announces microfracture surgery to stop NBC from moving his time slot

Holy sh**, I was just watching Kimmel and he's doing his monologue in costume as Leno and telling lame Leno style jokes and the band doing the Leno band thing after every joke he tells.

Looks like Letterman holds the lead for the year (not even a full year for Conan) but that Conan found traction and outperformed Dave in the last quarter.

 

Now Kimmel is doing Headlines as Leno, damn this is legendary.

 

I never watch Kimmel but this is pretty amusing. And Chevy Chase in a Conan wig is awesome.

i suspect conan will be done once nbc makes their decision, which will probably be sometime in the next couple days - there is no way they can keep him on if he knows he will be gone. his entire show will be a platform for him to run nbc into the ground.

maybe the backlash makes nbc rethink this whole thing, but the damage might already be done. it would take some major public ass-kissing to get conan to stay. and this whole thing was doomed to failure anyway. leno 5 nights a week at 9 wasnt ever going to work. the smart thing to do would have been to give leno 1 hour a week and let him do whatever he wants with it.

wouldnt it be awesome if the night leno 'premieres' with the tonight show letterman has conan on and they spend an hour ripping on nbc - maybe get springsteen to play.

Im amazed at how pretty much all of these guys are not holding back on Leno. Normally you'd expect them to not attack a fellow comedian but the gloves are off, its great! :grin:

 

I can't wait to see tomorrow's show. Is it just me or the quality of Conan's has gone up a notch for the past two days.
