Joey Dorsey’s stint with the NBA Development League is over.

The Rockets plan to bring their second-year center back Wednesday and will have him in uniform in time for their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey confirmed on Tuesday.

In 16 games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Dorsey averaged 14.9 points on a league-best 64.7 percent shooting. His 13.3 rebounds per game are second in the D-League.

"He did very well," Morey said. "He helped lead them to a 13-4 record, has been the best rebounder in the D-League and advanced in the areas we were hoping he would improve on. We’re going into a stretch with a lot of strong rebounders, so having another big body could be important for us."

Forward Mike Harris, who was waived by the Rockets last week, rejoined the Vipers on Tuesday.

Doesnt really make sense. He's gonna ride the pine. Why not keep him down there? Unless of course there is a unspecified injury but then still...?

it's good to have an extra big body on the roster incase of foul trouble, match up problems, etc... when going against what DM thinks are the tougher interior teams.

I think the Rockets simply have a stretch where they have enough home games and time practice time for them to work with Dorsey and see where he stands. The difficult early schedule and lack of practice days earlier meant that they might as well have Dorsey down in RGV since he ain't getting attention in Houston anyway.

Agreed - it seems like he's still learning, and that's good because it suggests that he still has potential to reach. Time will tell if he can do that, but I sure hope he does.

I am happy for Dorsey. Hopefully, Adelman will play him.

Joey Dorsey is a beast. I hope we blow out Minny so he gets some PT. I wanna see him throw down. But he's in deep s*it if he gets fouled. Can't even hit rim at the FT line.

Dorsey has pretty much the laughinstock at the Garm, hasn't him?

But you know what, I can respect any person who works hard, and Dorsey seems to be putting the work to be a better player.

I'd like to see Joey Dorsey get some minutes tomorrow.

He's gonna be everything Eddy Curry hoped he could ever be.

    And then some.
