For me it was this past summer. My brother and I for the past two summers have been doing minor baseball trips around certain parts of America. This past summer we lucked into seeing Mark Buerhles perfect game. By far the best sports moment I've physically been apart of, and I am by no means a White Sox fan at all. I'm probably one of the younger members here on Clutchfans so my history of attending sports events is probably lesser than others, but what are some of the best sports moments you have attended ?
I haven't gotten to see any truly "great" moments, but I was at a Jim Jackson buzzer-beater-vs-the-Bulls and the UH win over Texas Tech...both were very exciting. I would have KILLED to be at that 13-in-35 game...or the Rockets championships, though I was 7 and it's unlikely I would have appreciated it as much as I should have.
Game 6 against the Blazers last year when Rockets won and finally advanced in the playoffs. I had seats a couple rows behind the goal and the feeling when the game was over was surreal. I was also at the infamous Rosencopter game...but that would be one of the worst.
As a junior in HS, some friends and I snuck down to the floor level for the NCAA Final Four in the Astrodome: Kansas (Dave Robisch), Villanova (Howard Porter and Chris Ford), UCLA (Sidney Wicks and Curtis Rowe) and Western Kentucky (Jim McDaniels). I got Larry Farmer's sweatbands...
I was at the Rockets 1st championship ring ceremony. I lost the replica ring they gave to everybody at the game though.
texans first winning season Loren Woods when he tied the NCAA most blocked shots in a game. UT game where ricky williams broke the UT rushing record. nothing that great
Game 3 1995 NBA Finals. Game 5 2005 NLCS. (Well, it didn't end well for the home team, but it was still a great sports moment in baseball history.)
Haha I remember watching that on TV. I bought tickets to the game previous and after that. Baseball is just so unpredictable. Who would of thought he would of gotten that many hits in one game at that point in his career. I also went to his last game, was hard to not tear up.
-Eddie Johnson Shot -Jeff Kent walk-off Homer -Sitting in the endzone where Vinitieri hit the game winning FG in Superbowl 38
I was at the 13-in-35 game. Third row. Mid-court (also private suite and Lexus lounge). We didn't leave before the end. I was yelling my ass off! Whatever Tracy McGrady is today, he was magical then.
I went to the "Game of the Century" between Houston and UCLA in 1968. I don't remember much about the game, I was only 8yrs old. I do remember it was hard to see the players from the stands in the Astrodome. I also went to Super Bowl VIII at Rice Stadium in 1974. Miami beat Minnesota 24-7. Cold day and boring game.
2004: MLB HR Derby at Minute Maid Park 2004 NLCS: Jeff Kent walk-off HR 2005 NLDS: Burke walk-off HR 2005 NLCS: Astros take 3-1 lead over Cards on Everett-Bruntlett double play 2009: Houston-Texas Tech 2008: Cowboys-Eagles last MNF game at Texas Stadium 2009: Cowboys-Eagles Wild Card game
-the game that Hakeem passed Oscar Robertson for 7th all-time in scoring. It was nice to be part of a standing ovation for Dream. -game 4 against the Lakers in '04 where Boki took down Malone. We lost the game, but that was a great moment.
I went to another regional NCAA game at Hofheinz Pavilion at which Austin Carr of Notre Dame went off for a record 63 (?) points against TCU. This was about 1970 or so. Record stood until a couple of years ago.
