Okay, that's nice, but I didn't say just Scola, nor did I say he would be an All-Star.

Yes but would you rather have an underachieving 12 million dollar center or overachieving 3 million dollar forward to go with a few other valuable young pieces.

Although I doubt it will be Scola more than likely they will want Landry, though Scola would make more sense with him being restricted and an international player (that they covet from what I've read).

I don't see Bosh making a move to So Cal anytime soon, Texas is a better fit for him.

I think we need to have a third team to get Bosh ...

Trade proposal I came up with (trade exceptions and draft picks not involved, but could be included):

    Rockets trade:
    * Scola, Cook and Battier to Raptors
    * McGrady and Taylor to Warriors

    Raptors trade:
    * Bosh and A. Wright to Rockets
    * Nesterovic and O'Bryant to Warriors

    Warriors trade:
    * Biedrins to Raptors
    * Maggette and Azubuike to Rockets

=> Rockets incoming players: Bosh, Maggette, Azubuike and A. Wright
=> Raptors incoming players: Scola, Cook, Battier and Biedrins (+ perhaps draft picks)
=> Warriors incoming players: McGrady, Taylor, Nesterovic and O'Bryant (+ perhaps draft picks)

    - Raptors would do this: Biedrins could be their starting center for years, Battier can play defense next to Turkoglu and Scola would be a perfect starting PF for them (they have money enough to resign him next year), Cook is just an expiring contract.

    - Warriors would do this: They are getting rid of Maggette and Biedrins contracts. Taylor would be perfect in there system and replace Azubuike of the bench. Nesterovic and O'Bryant 'replace' Biedrins of the bench at center and are expiring contracts. T-Mac, well we know why ...

    - Rockets would do this: you can fill this one in yourself!

Contracts work, I have done it with ESPN NBA Trade Machine ...

    Rockets team:
    C: Bosh/Hayes/Anderson (and Yao)
    PF: Landry/Bosh/Hayes
    SF: Maggette/Ariza/A. Wright
    SG: Ariza/Budinger/Azubuike
    PG: Brooks/Lowry

While not a bad plan overall, I think I would prefer to try and use McGrady's contract to acquire someone like Iguodala or Kevin Martin over Maggette and Azubuike. There are potentially many options available at Daryl Morey's fingertips, it's just a matter of if he can swing 'em or not. It'll be difficult. If anything happens, I'll bet it's mid-February near the deadline.

wow.. this would be awesome! however i doubt the raptors do this. i'm pretty sure they could get back something better in a Bosh deal. but wow. i would faint if this went down

Personally, Im not too high on Bosh, given we would have to give him a max deal. I like how Morey has built this team, with players producing well above their contract (Reina value). As of right now we have our PF position locked down solid with only $6mil total going to Scola ($3mil) and Landry ($3mil). That gives us more money to spread around other positions. If we got Bosh we would have about $25mil + going to the PF position alone.

I would rather spend the money on a elite scoring SG/SF IMO.

I like it a lot and would prefer to send out Ariza and keep Battier. Would even be willing to throw in our first rounder in exchange for somebody's 2nd rounder.

The key would be is Toronto really willing to take Biedrins in that deal. He is OVERPAID.

    1. Problem being, the Warriors said they have no interest in Tracy Mcgrady.

    2. Like I have said numerous times, that people often over look, is that bad teams have problems luring in top free agents. The Warriors, even with Mcgradys expiring contract, will NOT be attractive to free agents. Bad teams like the Griz, Clips, Bobcats, Kings and Warriors wont be in the Lebron, Wade, Amare sweepstakes at all. Good players want to win. More times than not, these bad teams are the ones giving out crazy contracts to players that dont deserve the money they make, just to lure them in. It doesnt make the bad teams any better. Teams like this are better off getting solid players through trades and the draft, and NOT free agency....that being the reason they dont want Mcgrady and his salary relief.

For a trade for Bosh I'd think the starting point for Toronto would be Landry + Brooks. But there are 2 problems with this scenario: First, they already have Calderon ($10 mil) + Jack ($4 mil) as PGs. Do they go with a 3rd PG even if it creates a glut, or do they look at other positions? Second, Landry + Brooks + Cook will not match up salary wise at all. So taking these two factors into consideration, the likely proposal could be Landry + Battier / Ariza + Cook. But is that enough for Toronto? I dunno.

I think Toronto wouldn't hesitate to take Bynum over Scola and Battier if they knew Bosh was leaving and Lakers actually did offer Bynum. Bynum is a legit 7 footer who's 22 years old.

You are seriously underrating Bynum and overrating Scola+Battier.

Bynum is crap. He only plays well against us because our center is 6'6". I would think the Raptors would be much more interested in a package we could offer over what the LAL could offer.

Man, two starters and the likely 6th Man of the Year, who you could pencil in as a starter as well? I would hope so! And we'd probaby toss them a pick. Include Brooks and the Rockets are bending over, IMO.

It's a shame Bynum has already had two major injuries, but that would give me pause in acquiring him.

And I've never seen Scola going to Toronto Yes, he's a good player on a nice contract, but when you add him to the rest of that Raptors team their isn't enough athleticism.

Bosh + Gasol don't make sense. The lakers do this trade may just for getting rid of Bynum's big contract?

I think this is just all talk. I dont see Bosh getting moved. And lastly, I see people throwing out lineups with Ariza as SG - I hope Morey can fix that. Ariza is not a SG and should not be playing the position. You dont want him jacking up 20 shots a game.

    Well, yea.

Trading Landry, Ariza/Battier, and Brooks is way too much. Even if we did, we'd too much in player personel to be able to resign Bosh.

not to underate or overate anybody but its about what might make sense at the time, scola and battier make toronto a more complete team, keep in mind that scola is an expiring contract if it dosent work out they dont have to keep him, and i dont know of anybody that wouldnt welcome battier to their team these 2 guys are work horses!
