    Good call by his government. As patriotic as those games are for China, they are ultimately worthless as the national team will never actually win. Keeping Yao out is a very good move and the first step in preserving his health as a national treasure. Wish they did this earlier though, before all of Yao's injuries.

    Mixed emotions on this. People will say great for the Rockets, maybe, maybe not. If he is truly healed then it would allow him to get into shape before the Nba season. If his foot is not completely healed then of course it's a good thing. I'm not overly worried about wear and tear, I want the team to have a good idea what is going to happen with the foot before the season begins.

    I hear that the practices for the chinese national team are quite spartan like. Hopefully this is not a wise decision made 5-6 years too late. :(

    good news. Him playing in the championship wont make much difference as our basketball team is probably down to the valley after those humiliating losses. Rest off and get ready for new season, Yao's done more than enough for our country :p
