Now who exactly was that bidding for us to trade Tracy for Redd? I know that came up during the possible trade scenarios.
I feel bad for Milwaukee... they are the epitome of mediocrity. When I was a kid they were awesome and since then (almost 25 years) they've won 50 games only once. I just feel bad for them. And on a different note, I'd still like to see teams be able to do something with long, guaranteed contracts. Guaranteed money/years is killing some teams and forcing the business of trades to be almost exclusively about finances.
Not surprised. But hey, what are ya gonna do? Not get injured I guess!? Heh, easier said than done I suppose.
I like the way NFL does their contracts... guarantee a specific amount... if you play your whole contract, you make the full amount. If not, you get the guaranteed amount... I do feel bad for Michael Redd. I ripped up my ACL/MCL/LCL 2 years ago playin ball and it was the most excruciating pain i had ever felt in my life. Rehab was a B**CH and it definitely takes a lot of time to get over the fear and the pain. It took me about 18 months to get back to feeling comfortable playing without pain/fear.
Yeah, baseball doesn't have to deal with it because they're uncapped--so the financial issues are team spending/revenue issues.. and only some teams have to make financially-based deals. (And those teams wouldn't sign guys to long-term guaranteed big money deals really. i.e. the Royals wouldn't go sign Sabathia for $100 mil) Football doesn't have to deal with it because they only have to pay guaranteed money and can cut players in the middle of a deal. Would definitely be nice for Stern to figure something out in the next labor agreement (without a strike)
Guilty hahaha I did say a healthy Redd would be perfect for this system. Guess he came back too soon.
Wow...feel sorry for the guy. Redd is one of my favorite players. Dude can shoot and came up out of nowhere. Must be tough getting injured like this. Injured Redd still > She-Mac.
Same here...When I first read the article I got a pit in my stomach. I was pulling for a TMAC for Redd/Gadzuric swap and now glad DM has a lot more patience then I.
I remember when they had their version of the big 3; Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson, and Sam Cassell. That was a monster arsenal to defend back in those days but I guess it was just too much offense and not enough defense type of thing. And to think Ray is now a member of the title winning Big 3. How ironic.
You must be out of your damn mind...Redd couldnt even lead Milwaukee to the playoffs in the freakin East.
