Talking about Etonics, remember like in 1986 that channel 20 VISION was giving out the free Etonics as sweepstakes during the He-man and rest of the lineup cartoons!! Man, I used to think that those Etonics Were the Coolest of all shoes. Then you had the pony's. But, then Jordan Nike shoes came along and everyone else was left behind. Nike should be renamed, "We owe all of this to the NBA and its management for dramaticing basketball so much, oh too thank you NBC" Had NBC wanted to, Etonic today could have been in the place NiKe is today!! i respected dream so much for the shoe thing he could have made millions off of nikes but he choose a cheaper shoe in spalding. unlike jordan who is concerend more about money. as long as he is making millions i doubt he cares that his shoes are $150 a pair and kids have been beat up and some people even killed over the shoes. hakeem just wanted shoes his fans could afford lol it's all your fault jordan shoes didn't matter until you came out with the expensive ones then all the kids couldn't have cheap shoes because they would be made fun of. true it's all business but the main reason hakeem didnt' sell many shoes is because they were cheap. can take quite a bit of teasing whereing hakeem spalding shoes to school but hey i wore them. i kinda wish he had nikes but hey my mom liked his price range ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
Just to add some info on shoes. Jordan was on Nightline once to discuss his shoes and Ted Koppel flat out asked why he was using his name that way when Hakeem had $40 shoes. This was around the time of a few teen killings and robberies for expensive Jordans. Jordan beat around the question and said something like they're both quality products. Hakeem has had one commercial for LA Gear "Lights" where he blocks a shot and his feet glow. Oh shoes, I remember when I had these LA Pumps. Those were cool. How many of y'all had Pumps?
