I've told this story before. Kelly once worked at Hyena's Comedy Club in Arlington Texas. As I worked the club one week I was invited out with the staff to a karaoke bar, Kelly sang and I thought "Wow" . After that I would ask her to come on stage and sing songs for me during my show. When I went back a year later we met a few times at the club during the day and she sang as I played songs that we both knew. The last night of my gig there she gave me a demo CD as asked me to help her out, I sent it to my manager in LA and he said "there's nothing there". Literally within a few months she blowing up on AI. And, yes he's still my manager. She was a SUPER sweet girl with this big, amazing uncultivated voice and I really enjoyed hanging out with her.
Wow, wrong. Singer, not model. Looking good is more advertising than the actual product. Most performers of every kind market their looks or persona to detract from their limited talent. Clarkson has some technical singing (and maybe writing?) abilities which allow her to maintain a career without doing this. Since she's well-adjusted enough to not need to be the most famous or richest celebrity alive, she doesn't have to make the same sacrifices to her privacy (not living in LA) and emotional and physical well-being other celebrities do. Do you really think it's all exercise and good dieting?
So, someone who is overweight = someone who is not worthy of your company. Wow. The world's loss, I guess.
I dont get it why people doesnt like fat people, and btw I think she is not fat, she is a little chubby, but not fat. and i agree that for a singer, you dont have to be pretty, thin, etc to be successful, it helps in the marketing department and to do sexy music videos, but if you need to show your body, that is a distraction because your voice is not very good.
I find it funny a lot of people on here calling her fat like they date super models or something. I'm not really a fan of hers but you dont have to super skinny to be cute.
Thats far from the reason. I've been writing this way for almost three years now. Just something I like to do and I like to have my own style.
She's a pop artist/entertainer not an opera singer. Looks/image has a lot to do with her industry and overall success. I agree that most performers do indeed market their looks to detract from their limited talent but in Kelly's case I think it would help her situation if she didn't blow up like the world trade. Publishing companies aren't dying for cover pages/pictorials/articles, commercials don't want her, little girls don't wanna grow up to be her and men (according to this board) don't wanna do her. Obviously miss Kelly doesn't care about those things. That leaves a very niche group that actually enjoys her for who she is and her music. She is who she is and I'm not hating on that I'm just going back to my original point of though that if I were a pop artist/entertainer trying to maximize my fame, publicity and bank account while under the public eye 24/7 I'd take better care of myself.
You dont believe this do you? And kids wanna grow up to be like rappers that dont make it a good thing. I like the way she goes about herself not caring about what other people think. I also get what you're saying because sex does sale, but if you ask me I dont think shes fat just not on the skinny side.
So what's the point. Sure, these things you say help make a singer the most popular s/he can be. But it still doesn't take away the fact that no all singers care to make the maximize earnings and fame. And apparently Clarkson's one of them. It's not a right or a wrong decision. It just depends on what one wants in life.
Why should I care about kelly clarkson if she doesn't hook up? Yeah I know, katy perry wrote that song for her, which I lost all respect for. How do you go from I kissed a girl and I liked it to I don't hook up. That's just not right. I like that one kelly clarkson song from love actually, the truth about love is..? ?
