I think enough has been said about this topic, but I really wanna increase my post numbers.

As a Chinese born in the mainland myself, I have no problem with whatever DaDakota said. Copyright violation is everywhere in China. The sad thing is the people who steal other people's work are those people who live on the copyright. Basically, by stealing other people's product, these people (software developers) make their own life miserable.

One must realise that the majority or us here in the U.S.A. get all our opinions from Newspapers,Books, TV, Films and personal comunications.Very few of us have personal experience of what constitutes our brains vast knoweledge! So many of our opinions are formed without first hand experience, we should realise that not all that we perceive from our second hand knowledge is always the truth. From this we should treat all Peoples with respect and love, because we all have the SAME needs. Even though Propaganda tries to mold us to be different!!

    Guys, let me explain.

Yes, I am a video game developer. Yes, China and most of the rest of Asia has been stealing my work for years. I work on a product for 2-5 years, and then put it out for all the world to see, if they like it, they buy it, and I get rewarded for my efforts.

However, in China, Russia, and the Middle East, my stuff gets sold on street corners for very little money. None of which makes it back to me and my team who slaved at times to get it done.

Does this make us mad...YOU BET !!!!

However, that does not make us insensitive, or make us think that EVERYONE is doing it. I know it is a problem, and I am sure it will all be worked out sometime. And in the interim, people will be enjoying my games that might not have had a chance to play them at all. So, maybe it helps in my sequal sales.

The main point I was making was in jest, it was sarcastic, not intended to inflame anyone.

However, software piracy is rampant in China, there is no denying it.

Don't take things too personally WangFan, I have a ton of respect for the chinese people, especially Yao Ming.

    :)
