If I was Daryl Morey I would be smarter than all of you and do something none of you could anticipate!

 

Investigate everything, put out the rumor that all his players were available, and be talking to any GM that called, also put a lot of pressure on McGrady's people by saying there was nothing in the works and telling them you aren't going to trade him unless it bring you back serious talent.

Then I would wait around until the trade deadline and see if New Orleans comes off their plan to keep CP3. I would call them up with the blockbuster deal to acquire CP3.

If New Orleans rejects, I've got Toronto lined up with a blockbuster for Chris Bosh. Send McGrady to a 3rd team, say New Orleans, for Okafor, Peja, and New Orleans' 2010 2nd rounder, then send Toronto Okafor, Landry, Joey, and Jermaine, for Chris Bosh and Toronto's 2nd rounder.

If Toronto doesn't bite, I'm after Kevin Martin in Sac Town or Iguodalla in Philly, possibly NY also, seeing who will put together the best package of talent for McGrady.

Then make the deal a few minutes before the trade deadline.

 

This has to be the number one suggestion!! It would greatly benefit our team.
We would have our next head coach in place when Adelman is finished.

Honestly, People just give too much credits to DM, who , by the way, has been very lucky. GM of NBA is all about connetion. For smart picks, more than half credit should go to coach and team systems.

Lol, someone had the idea once of all the Clutchfans pooling their $ and buying the Rockets. We could then vote on trades and FA acquistions.
