Seriously, everybody who even considers Yao for Bosh in any kind of way is a sellout and disrespectful to Yao. I'm not close to kidding and I know people get excited but the grass always looks greener on the other side but this is ridiculous. Please think before you speak.

I dont think Yao is likely to be traded for bosh, we're trying to team up Yao & Bosh, not trade them for each other. Plus if we trade Yao, It would leave a massive hole at the center Position.....

I would go with gutting the team and do Two trades...
    Toronto Gets:
    A. Brooks
    Luis Scola
    Shane Battier

    Houston Gets:
    Patrick O'Bryant
Chris Bosh (I think we convince him to stay, he could be voted to the starting line up of the all-Star Game every year being Yao's teammate and get much more exposure being Yao's team mate )

    Houston Gets:
    Andre Iguodala
    Jure Holiday
    Samuel Dalembert

    Philadelphia Gets:
    Tracy McGrady
    Brian Cook(expiring)

Line Up for rest of 09/10
    Lowry/ Holiday
    A. I./(Wafer), Taylor
    Ariza/ Budinger
    Bosh/ Landry, Hayes
    Dalembert/ Andersen, O'Bryant, *Yao*

disrespectful? Really? In what why? It's not exactly Yao for dampier..Yao stock automatically has decline because of injuries, that puts him lower in the ladder, no longer above bosh.

I thought about it... and it would be a freaking steal if we could get Bosh for Yao. Rockets won't do it, but I would be all over it.

In Yao's prime he was never as good as Bosh.

Sorry, but you trade your often injured All Star big man for the healthy All Star big man every day.

Toronto would never go for that, leaves them with 3 PGs who would hold each other back tremendously. I dont think those salaries even match closely enough...scola, brooks and shane only make like 7+3+3 = 13 mill, maybe even alittle less. Bosh alone makes over 15 mill.

correction, brooks makes closer to 1 mill, so it's closer to 11 mill in total salary

i'd like to think of it as Yao was more valuable than bosh at that point. not sure if you get what i mean by that...but a star center is/was rare, teams want that, PFs arent that rare, so yao would be more valuable, but with injuries not as much anymore.

Also, Toronto doesn't want Yao for a myriad of reasons as people have already brought up in this thread. Stop talking about trading Yao for Bosh already.

For the same reason why less would want him. Plus he is likely to stay in Toronto .

i hope not. i would rather move ariza than scola. we still have budinger and the tmac trade could bring in another wing. so he becomes redundant.

What are you basing that on?

This is ridiculous, the whole point of trading Bosh is so that they don't lose him for nothing, so why would they trade Bosh for someone that is int he EXACT same contract situation in Yao?

I tend to want to swing for the fences. Our current group + Bosh minus Yao just doesnt really excite me unless you get something good for Tracy. I think its Morey's goal to get a group of 25 year olds out there who are good now and could develop into champions. While personell wise its smart to move Yao, it just isnt going to happen :(

Bear with me while I go crazy in speculation. To me the ideal situation is move maybe 3 solid, but older, pieces (Batts, Scola, Lowry maybe) for Bosh, taking back no bad contracts. Brooks, Budinger, Ariza, Bosh, Landry still are relatively competitive this year. Having Yao injured in the wings + the $$ incentive tempts Bosh to come back and be a contender next year.

Meanwhile we still have McGrady to play with. Is the Iggy/Dalembert deal still a possibility? What if you offerred up Budinger to sweeten the pot? I dont care what Morey thinks, but we wont get Iggy without Dalembert and giving up some asset. All of the sudden a lineup of:

    Brooks (24)/Conroy
    Iggy (25)/Taylor
    Ariza (25)/(vacant)
    Bosh (25)/Landry (26)/ Hayes
    Yao (29) / Dalembert (28)

Thats a fantastic core of 25 year olds who could be contenders for what the next 5-6 years? Of course we would be luxury tax hell but damn if that lineup doesnt make your jaw drop. Obviously at that point moving Yao, at almost 30, makes sense for youth.

So they're going to trade their franchise player for a has-been center who may or may-not return and has 0 value this season cause he isn't even expiring?

There is this little thing called cap space. We don't have the cap space to sign him outright. But if we traded for him, we'd have his bird rights.

Pretty much. They have enough perimeter scorers around him and toronto is a international city. The rockets jones guy made me laugh talking about how trading yao is disrespectful. I found that funny to think a guy that has played less games than the oft injured mcgrady and making max. I think if anything, the rockets have done right by yao and mcgrady. How many team consistently have 40m on the bench?
