I think it is stupid to fire a coach after one year.

With that said why does Jim Mora continue to hire Gregg Knapp as his offensive coordinator? That is what killed him in Atlanta his coordinators.

Knapp is arguably one of the worst offensive coordinators in the history of the NFL that I have seen.

Well he was the pick of Tim Ruskell and Mike Holmgren. Both are gone, so the son of "Playoffs?!" was a lame duck after only one year. Especially since the players had zero respect for him.

Kinda sucks because it's doubtful he'll get another shot at being the head honcho again.

haha, i was going to post the same thing.

i wouldn't be surprised if that factored in to the decision. that kind of stubbornness and idiocy speaks volumes about a head coach.

I've never put too much stock into "Carroll to NFL" rumors but this one could have some legs. He'd be able to stay on the west coast and he already has a very young team that is going to lose quite a bit of talent to the NFL this summer.

Not only that, but the NCAA is finally breathing down USC's neck for a change. If any sanctions or probations come down, Pete wouldn't find that fun.

Didn't Seattle learn their lesson with Dennis Ericson?

USC sacrificed its bball program to save the football program and if carroll is seriously considering moving there is must be much worse that is heading their way for him to do that. their football program is much more tainted than that basketball program.

i hope carroll leaves and sucks big time and usc burns down

The allegations against Bush were pretty clear and could/should have had serious sanctions against USC but the NCAA pretty much swept that under the rug, looks like they're gonna do the same for the whole Mcknight thing.

Like yoyo posted, looks like USC is sacrificing their bball program for their football team.

If Petey's smart he stays put at suc. He's got it so good there and he will fail miserably in the NFL (again). I hope he stays put because beating the Trojans wouldn't be as sweet without Carroll.

Huh? He's talking about Reggie Bush, a football player who was at USC.
