Ron Artest appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show in his underwear a few weeks back. I never watch the show but stumbled across it as Ron came out.
Sorry from my post it seems I'm arguing the point, I'm not, I just don't understand the motive in losing games for NY. Thanks Dave. I'm guessing that was to make loo of his bus trip with the Owner and partners during the Lakers series. Haha, very funny I guess.
Scoop is a moron. His over the top pursuit of digging up racial injustices in sports has reached parody level(even by the man himself in a Kenny Mayne show episode). He is where he is because he grew up being Tim Hardaway's good friend and thus had access to all these pro players early on. Take that away from him, and he never gets his start at SLAM and never makes it to ESPN.
Yea, this is just flat out wrong. RA is trying to prove a point? Yes, he is, and he came right out and said it: “I’ve got to be careful because our team is on kind of a bubble,” Adelman said. “If we start changing the rotation, we start changing the way we play, it changes the whole chemistry of the team.” Now I don't know about Nate-Rob (or Nate-Dog, or New-York-Nate, or whatever they call him these days), but MAC is out because it IS in the best interest of the team. But you know what, if this 'liar liar pants on fire' type of storytelling keeps trying to make MAC look like a hero, then we might actually get more in return when we trade him ... SO FLAME ON!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't disagree more. TMac was the most coddled Rocket in history IMO and he pushed Adelman and Morey into a corner and they said "team first". This isn't "The Man" stomping on a poor helpless worker making $23 mil., this is a franchise which is saddened and betrayed. To say management is "asserting who's boss" in this case is ridiculous. Scoop bringing up "The $40 million Slave" just made me ill. I wonder if there's a difference being a $68 million slave and just being emotionally and intellectually stunted?
I think the point is that both teams are doing what they feel is best for their future regardless of how it affects either player specifically (either financially or their general future as a player). The mind games he's referring to, atleast in Mcgrady's case, is when the Rockets made it seem as if they had any intention of playing him this season. We all know it was only a matter of time before he would be traded as an expiring contract, he wasn't in their future plans. It's not selfish, anyone would want to be in a situation to play. The Robinson situation is a little different because it is painfully obvious that he can help that team win games right now. Many people believe McGrady could help the Rockets as well when he found his rhythm but without Yao the rockets were clearly more concerned with developing the young players they KNOW will be there next season than tacking on a few extra wins with a used-to-be-star.
Another outsider that knows absolutely nothing but what the player "might" have told him. I'm completely done with this T-Mac drama and can't wait for it all to go away
Did Rip Van Winkle just wake up from sleeping for 150 years, checked the stat line for Tracy and Nate and write an article with racial undertones condemning management? Go back to bed Scoop.
That is exactly my interpretation of the article. First, the implication that bosses and organizations are the only ones who play childish mind games...oh no, players don't do that at all! I guess he missed Tmac being a spoiled child throwing a tantrum last year. Second, bringing up slavery is just dumb. Making millions of dollars a year bouncing a ball around has nothing to do with slavery. Being employed by someone else does not make you a slave. Third, Scoop needs to stop acting like he's a BET VJ every time he gets airtime. No one is impressed. At least blowhards like Stephen A. and Skip Bayless attempt to look professional.
Sorry Guys but you are all jumping on the waggon, you are all hooked line & sinka by just what the Rockets Management wants you to think. You all have formed firm opinions about this situation with McGrady, yet I believe the truth has not been told yet. Please keep an open mind about this. Possiby, one day soon, all might become clear- it could go either way, possibly McGrady has significant physical problems or possibly our Coach Adelman is a spiteful person, possibly Morey needs to use this situation to further the team and is working within his plan, possibly Les has become unenchanted with Tracy. No body has made an honest effort to lay the cards out on the table yet. I for one am not taken in by the words that Tracy is no longer the player he used to be. Possibly after seeing him play a full 30 mins in 5 or 6 games I will be convinced otherwise.
I don't think T-mac has been exiled even. I just think it's a situation where he wants to do things on his terms and the Rockets want him to do things on their terms. If T-mac was willing to just put his head down and play his 8 minutes a game until he got back to where he was, the Rockets would be fine. If T-mac could play the way the others guy play with the extreme hustle he's get more than 8 minutes a game as well. But since neither of those two things were happening, and when T-mac asked for more minutes, the Rockets just realized it wasn't going to work and pulled the plug for now. Then T_mac asked for a trade. It doesn't require any more analysis, hypothesizing, or theorization than that. T-mac wanted more minutes, the Rockets were ready to give him that yet. Nothing more nothing less.
Adelman has been very clear and honest about the whole situation, you just can't accept the truth. The rockets organization doesn't have to prove anything to you or anyone else by playing McGrady more minutes. Adelman has observed McGrady in practice and in games and determined he can't help the team. Adelman has won almost 900 games as an NBA coach, you don't think he knows what he's doing? C'mon Man.
