Have they been more active lately? In Iraq, there were ZERO U.S. combat fatalities last month (and only THREE total fatalities). There were five U.S. combat fatalities in July, three in August, four in September, two in October and four in November. I realize this is only one theater and is not representative of the Al-Qaeda "holy war" whatsoever, just throwing it out there.
They are always this active. They could give 2 sh!ts about what is going on in the US and around the world. All they want to do is hurt the innocent. In my eyes, the only real way to really hurt the terrorists (othen than nuking that whole area) is to stop buying foreign oil. Once we get away from our dependency on oil, they will have absolutly no money other than drugs. That is the only resource anyone cares about.

yes, really. Iran is known to fund terrorism. Iran is, I believe, the 4th largest producing country. I think somewhere around 75% of their money from exports is from oil and gas, maybe even higher. They live in a desert, poor education system, etc etc. They would have no way to make money. Then, they would have no way to fund terrorism. Don't get me wrong, it aint gonna happen any time soon.
Maybe you are just watching more more TV. The more TV news you watch the more stuff seems to be going on. If you don't watch any, you will seem to live in a blissfully boring, small world.
While oil revenues account for a massive amount of Iran's GDP (50-60%), your other comments make it sound like you are quoting Glen Beck rather than doing some actual research...

2 things. First, please explain what other comments u are talking about. Second, don't ever compare me to the fearmonger glenn cry baby beck. All I was saying is if you cut off the money to a country than is known to support terrorists, they wot have the funding to do so. Glenn beck would have blamed terrorism on Obama and health care.
I think he simply meant that you went a bit hyperbolic on terrorists' funding. On that note, I remember an article that said Al-Qaeda also extorts 'protection money' from villages and citizens, and that the villages don't resist because it's simply cheaper to comply. I read that a long time ago though, so I can't remember any other sources of revenue...
For sure they are extorting, no doubt. They also make money, obviously, from opium farming. I was just stating that there is nothing we can do to stop them, other than cut off their money supply. Either way, makes me chuckle that they actually believe they will be gven virgins, rather than rotting in the dirt for eternity.
Eliminate foreign oil dependency. Do away with prohibition. Terrorists and criminal enterprises the world over will be s*** out of luck and completely out of $$$.
The problem with this is that terrorism doesn't cost much. 9/11 cost a few hundred thousand dollars. Underwear bomber probably cost a few thousand, at most.
