    Time: July 25th

    at Shanghai.

Members: the lawyer (?) who came last time. I don't know how to translate his name. I think his kids talked with Ming.

    Goals:
    1. Shanghai Sharks: cooperation contract with Rockets
    2. CBA: Give CBA the promise to release Ming at his National team duty.

    A long report.

no word in Houston media about this that I'm aware of. Curious.

by the way, your title says the goal is to "sign Yao Ming" but the goals in your post do not say that.

    w&s,

Does the article mention that negotiations are still required?

    It's a long report.

The delegate of Rockets will bring all the conntracts of Ming with them.

First of all, they will go to Shangahai and sign a "cooperate contract" with Sharks. You can imagine the content of this contract.

Second, they will go to Beijing and give a "written promise" to CBA about Ming's National team duty.

Then CBA release the "passport" to Rockets.( the certification to FIBA)

Ming's agents have achieved the agreement of Ming's salary with Rockets. But both parties will keep it secretly until they announce it together.

cool, thanks windandsea. Your first post make it sound like negotiations were still required. This now reads like a formality of exchanging signed contracts in person.

Michael Goldberg is the name of the lawyer. He is a lawyer at my firm! I just found this out recently in the firm newsletter.

Damn! Think of the inside scoop you should be able to get from him!

Work him.... go to lunch, you can even right it off as a business expense!
