How can you say that. This defensive unit is better than that teams unit. Maybe not in terms of athletes but Muschamps>>>Chizek

The problem is that the offense in 2005 was the best Texas offense ever. Even Greg Davis couldn't screw it up. VY is probably the greatest college player ever IMO.

Colt is in the top 10 college QB's but he isn't the GOD that VY was but he can still make up for it by playing like he did vs A&M tonight

Even though I love watching the Big 12 & Pac 10 games. I like watching the SEC games more than any other conf games b/c they are so good.

Problem is the A&M defense sucks bad. Alabama's defense is very good.

    We'll see.

Ya but if he goes for 300yds passing 150yds rushing and 4 tds tonight against Bama and we win, he will be the greatest QB in college history hands down.

LOL, I actually went to UT but the chances of those numbers happening are about 0.1%

    I'll settle for a low-scoring win.

The 05 game was more of a mismatch than this game. I think this year's Texas team and Alabama are pretty evently matched, especially defensively so I don't see a clear favorite here and wouldn't be surprised at all if Texas wins.

In 05, Texas needed every single thing to go their way to beat that USC team. You have the Reggie Bush lateral when USC was looking to pull away. You have that amazing interception by the Texas defender where he got one toe in bounds near the goal line (play of the game IMO). You have VY's knee being down on that toss TD play, and the refs missing it. You have the 4th down stop which was probably a dumb decision by USC, but they had such a super offense, that its understandable why they did it, and then you have VY being VY and running wild all over a pretty poor USC defense. And with all those things going Texas' way, they STILL needed a heroic 4th down play at the end of the game by VY to win.

If Texas has as many things go their way tonight as they did in 05, then I'd say this game won't even be close and they would win comfortably.

Do you remember the 05 team? They didn't beat people, they destroyed them. Texas had 3 RBs that were all better than any RB they have right now.

This team is good and national championship worthy. The 05 team was an all decade or century team.

I think it is low but not that low maybe 5% bascally if they play 20 times Colt will have an out this world game in 1 but still it could be this one.

could not agree more... that 05 team had multiple first round picks on both sides of the ball.

This should be an easy one. Just don't allow Colt to run for 1st downs and they should be good. I'm expecting a 10+ points win for 'Bama.

    Roll Tide!

I wish it wasn't so cold here in Austin so I could go out and partake with fellow Longhorns. This weather is conducive to sitting on the couch with some beer all night, so that's the current plan.

Is there any way we can get an actual game thread going tonight? There are so many pages here it will be impossible to keep up with when the action hits.
