For the love of God, you guys are comparing two completely different players. McGrady is a prolific former bonafied superstar who was a offensive powerhouse...two time scoring champion, 7 time all star, popular with fans all around the nba despite his shallow personality.

Ariza can't even dribble and seems to be lacking in fundamentals from all aspects of the game. He is a great defender who can occasionally knock down perimeter shots.

That being said, Ariza is a defending World Champion while McGrady has never been past the first round. My point here is to stop comparing these two players. I'm tired of hearing all these ironic connections between the two just because one is wearing #1 and looks like the other etc. Please stop with these stupid comparisons.

We've already run one out of town, whether it was deserved or not. T-Mac's time and welcome was worn out apparrently. Please don't make a judgement on Ariza untill a full year under Adelman's system and a clear indiciation of how he will play alongside Yao since we are building the team around Yao.

But they are surely similiar ,when Tmac left Carter ,Tmac developed to a superstar, and when Ariza left Kobe ,Ariza became better .what' s more ,they both were the NO.1 of Magic. It's a pity that they have no more chances to play on the same court.

We wouldnt be comparing Ariza to McGrady if Ariza wasn't trying to play like him.

Tell Ariza to stop trying to be a superstar and well stop blaming his play for our losses.

Well imo, their games are not even close to being similiar.

Ariza is not near as athletic as Tmac was.

Tmac was not near as good of a defender as Ariza despite being a decent shot blocker in his early Toronto days.

Ariza is being forced to take shots, that's clearly hurting his growth and this team. Ariza cannot handle such a load whereas Tmac certainly could.

One earns 20.37 million; the other 5.8 million.

People are confusing TA for TM, KB, LJ, DW. TA was brought in to be a complementary player.

    TA is doing just fine.

Shooting 38% and putting up 15.4 shots a game isn't complementing anything except losing.

Certainly, Ariza is not Mac. Mcgrady was one of those special talents. Ariza is just a role player, seems like a nice guy, but of course not as gifted as Mac.

nobody is comparing them but when adelman comes out and says mcgrady doesn't give the team the best chance in winning when ariza is worse than an injured mcgrady how can you not compare them when we have a better player at the 2 guard spot wanting to pay that is flat-out better than the guy playing 2 guard spot right now?

I don't get why some would say he's trying to be a superstar, he never said he was. I think people had some crazy high expectations for him and since he has failed to meet all of your high expectations you see him as a failure and tend to put all the blame on him.

Rational people are comparing Tmac to Ariza because RA's reasoning for sending Tmac home is WE DON'T HAVE PT FOR HIM. Basically he's saying Tmac won't help us win because he sucks, that he hasn't recovered from his injury. It doesn't matter if they have different skillsets, RA is saying Ariza is so good we don't need Tmac here because we have no room for him and his b****ing about PT.

I wonder how Les feels about this. He's paying Tmac 23 mill to basically recover and play for an opponent. If I were him I'd be demanding that Tmac be put back in the rotation to lessen Ariza's PT and help us win more games. What's our record after Tmac left? 4-5 I think.

Umm, you can compare 08-09 T-wack with 09-10 Ariza.

Just about 16 ppg, 38 percent shooting, is a ball stopper, loves to shoot r****ded ass shots...

    EXCEPT... Ariza plays defense.

McGrady in High School was better than Ariza has ever been, or will ever become.

compare arizas first 35 game to mcgradys 35 games injured. mcgrady shot the ball better from the field, 3pt line, ft line he also had more assist and committed LESS TURNOVERS than ariza

Funny how a thread asking posters to stop comparing Ariza and McGrady is now an Ariza-McGrady comparison thread.
