Your right it is RA's fault
Remember when steve Francis made his comeback
RA refused to play him because of his stubborness
But when the rockets lost 5 or 6 games in a row RA's hand was forced and he changed his lineup.
Maby we should cheer for the rockets to go on a loosing streak so RA changes his a and someone else gets Arizas minutes
    Seriously...w

So what? Shane Battier had 0 points despite being pretty much unguarded by the Suns. Lowry had more turnovers than points. Let's not even talk about the horrible defense Scola played on Frye, allowing him wide open looks all game long. If anything, that resulted more in the loss than Trevor's play.

Exactly. Rafer went to Orlando and won, Artest went to Lakers and is winning, Ariza just won a championship. Battier has a positive impact every year before this one.

All those guys are good role players given right situation. Unfortunately Rockets always missed something due to injury and lack of talent for the past a few years, and people keep blaming them just because they only appreciate scorers.

Both Ariza and Battier will be good once Yao comes back to give them open looks.

I'm with the OP on this one. Before that god-awful three pointer at the end, I thought Ariza played a pretty decent offensive game and his threes in the second half were huge in keeping the Rox in the game. Not excusing his late-game performance, but really, no one played defense tonight at all. Frye burned Scola all game from behind the arc, Battier was a zero on offense, Kyle had some bad drives to the basket and shied away from open jumpers late in the game, and Hayes/Anderson didn't exactly overwhelm either. Team game, team loss.

I am not saying Ariza is the only guy playing awful. AB needs better court vision and passing skills....etc But Ariza is developing arrogance while playing horribly. NOW, that deserves some bashing

He is asked to do too much. That's what 40mil sitting on bench do to you.

Replace Ariza with any MLE player in NBA won't make Rockets much better. So there is no need to blame everything on him.

So there are only 119 players in the league? Gee I could swear that 30*13>119. Anyways, yes, Ariza's shooter and overall game is awful. But lets remember back to when Kevin Durant was a rookie in his first season. The first half of the season, he was exactly like Ariza. Can't handle the ball, can't shoot. He looked awful. Then in the second half of the season, he figured out how to be a more efficient scorer and he had about 50% fg in the second half. I'm not saying its sure to happen with Ariza. Its just too soon.

Did you seriously just compare a 6th year vet to a 19 year old rookie?

And more importantly, did he just compare Trevor Ariza to Kevin Durant? It was QUITE clear Durant was a gifted scorer, so no surprise that he "got it" later that year. Ariza is NOT a gifted scorer. Like I have said before and Ill say it again, Ariza is a tremendous player if he is your 4-5th option right now. Maybe later he'll develop into a third option AT BEST. He is no all-star, and he struggles because he takes All-Star shots sometimes (like the 3 tonight). Part of his shooting percentage is poor shot selection, but quite honestly he just is not shooting the ball well. He is missing many open looks as well. Part of his poor play is being asked to do too much, part of it is low-confidence and frustration. I think his problems will come to an end soon though, because as the season progresses Aaron Brooks and Carl Landry are becoming the go to tandem. Chase is also coming on, so his shots will increase. The days of Ariza shooting 15+ jumpers are over IMO, and if he shoots 10-15 shots per game im ok with that for now.

Ariza playing off Yao has the potential to be amazing.
Anything this year is just gravy IMO.

That said, I am in total agreement with your post.

I wonder how much of a whipping boy Eric "Sleepy" Floyd would have been on this board if the internet was alive like it is today during his playing days with the Rockets?

I didn't realize there was a thread for this but since my last post in another thread probably should have been here, I'll repost it here as I think it makes some sense in the context of this thread too.
