I only saw the last minute but from what I saw he had that crucial dunk and then him knocking out on the next possession was just bad luck it seemed. Did I miss something?
Everyone should know by now....... #1 - He's related to Tracy McGrady #2 - He's softer than a pillow #3 - He gets hurt every week and he ends up being fine the next day.
Yep, in the Bulls game. Honestly, I don't think anybody gets hurt easier or faster than Vince Carter does. 2nd softest player in the NBA behind Tracy McGrady.
It runs in the family. Both Vince and McGrady wince at the slightest pain/contact. Both lack heart and will. Both have been criticized by veteran PFs for lack of leadership (Vince Carter by Oakley, McGrady by Horace Grant).
back to the orginal point i wonder how much he is effected by the magic having everyone back, and this effecting his time with the ball in his hands, Nelson has put a few good games together, which is really the first stretch of him playing with Carter, Vince is used to having the ball in his hands, now they have nelson, dwight and lewis then pietrius, barnes, bass and gortat off the bench, even tonight JJ comes off the bench and plays amazingly efficienctly, maybe he is slowed by an bum ankle, and he always wasted some of his talent, but really this could be about him fitting in and being more efficient and maybe just maybe he can't do that
Didn't SVG or someone else with the Magic say that VC gets bored on the court and creates difficulty/challenges to keep himself interested and occupied? VC may have a problem playing on a talented team where they don't need him to be the #1 option 100% of the time. On the Magic, he doesn't get to take the shot whenever he wants. The real question is what's wrong with the Orlando Magic. I don't really care about VC or the Toronto Purple Dinosaurs. Losing to the ultra-pathetic Pacers who had lost 9/10 and were missing their 3-4 best players and losing again tonight at home to the Purple Dinosaurs is troubling. A team this talented has no business losing 3 games in a row to weak teams. This season is a true test for SVG. It's one thing to max out an undertalented or average team. It's a different challenge to bring the parts together to create an NBA champion. The dog days of January are upon us and the Magic have a difficult west coast swing starting next week. They need to give it another 3-4 weeks but I'm beginning to think they might need to make a move. Something isn't right. The new, mellow SVG won't stay that way for long if they keep losing.
Exactly. And the Magic had similar problems last year and did nothing to address them. The main problem in last year's playoffs wasn't talent as much as closing out games. I'm not sure how replacing Hedo--who spaces out during games, but more than Howard shouldered his team's offense--with VC--even worse in terms of staying focused--helps. I haven't seen him play since Christmas vs. the Celtics, but VC's body language is, well, typical VC: it screams "I don't care." In that game he just gave up on defensive possessions.
Maybe it's a curse on SVG because of his Christmas complaint. Just saying. Seriously, I remember some years ago I read an opposing points of view article between two writers, arguing who would be a better franchise player to build around, Vince Carter or Tracy McGrady. Boy, how the times are changing...
Man I'm short on SF's in my league and he was my 3rd overall pick (well automated) because i was late logging into my online draft. He was fine at the beginning of the season but man I'm just down in that position now!! sucks
