i think morey prob has some numbers showing it's not worth shooting a step or two inside the 3, the improve ins % may not be enough to overcome the extra point. Remember Tmac always did that and i think Morey once said he'd prefer he'd just take the three or get closer.
I love DA and give him a break, it his first year in the NBA. Let us not forget that Scola struggled in his rookie year also so just give the man some time and he will make a great backup to Yao.
His fg % has dipped in the last 5 games or so. It was pretty good before that. It's been beaten to death that Andersen will need time to adjust. Scola went through the same thing. He has helped us beat the Lakers & Mavericks this season so I wouldn't consider him a "scrub". His D isn't as bad as you're describing either. He helped on Kobe a couple of times and did a good job contesting the shot. I'm not sure how many times Bynum scored on Andersen last night, but it seemed like the others were getting abused more.
Man the Rockets have some of the worst fans in the NBA. Overreact over everything, **** is getting ridiculous.
I can't believe the same people that bash Ariza are the ones saying "Andersen still hasn't adapted to the NBA." Well, guess what? ARIZA HASN'T ADAPTED TO THE ROCKETS STYLE OF PLAY YET.
You Sir have no clue about basketball. I think adequate sport would be NASCAR, there is no thinking there.
you must be kidding me!!! Yao's jumpshot is much much better than DA. it is NOT just a small size Yao. DON'T mention Yao while talking about DA next time.
I would agree in the case of McGrady, who has insane range (or used to), and there would be very little FG% difference inside and outside the 3pt line. Meanwhile, Andersen is trying to develop that range on the fly during the season, and you can kinda tell in his shooting stroke that he's pushing the ball on his 3 attempts. Also, I don't particularly like the fact that he takes the 3 with 10+ seconds on the shot clock. I mean, our team should be able to get a better shot than our center taking a 3 at the top of the key, right?
his shot mechanics were brought up before, but i'm pretty sure that's just his shot, it looks forced from everywhere, but from the 3 he has to push off more because it's farther, but that's just his weird looking technique. i think the team wants him to take those to provide spacing, so he's got to take them regardless of where the clock is at.
anderson has actually been a pleasant suprise this year. i trust his 3 point shot behind budinger and battier's.
Scola was 10x the player Anderson was when he came to us. He provided good offense, rebounds, and serious hustle his first year with us. DA has given us nothing that can't be provided by Landry with extra minutes. Go look on 82games.com at opposing opponent fg%. I'm not even going to bother and I know chances are its going to be the worst on the team. This guy's so soft on defense, everyone scores on him at will.
I must admit DA has improved quite a bit since the beginning of the season. He looked AWFUL at the start. I didn't think he belonged in the NBA. I still don't know if he belongs in the NBA - but he's at least showed that he's getting there.
