He's averaging almost 22 points over the last 4 games, amazing! The crazy part is that he's not shooting threes this season well at all, only at 30.5%...and yet his FG% is 45.7 wtf? Has Luther learned to do other things with the basketball other than shoot threes?!?!?!
I'm telling you, draft your bigs at Georgetown. Morey needs to sneak in and take Monroe. Ewing, Zo, Deke, and now Hibbert?
Head has always been able to produce, he really just had that horrible outing versus Utah and lost Clutchfans. He doesn't fit in the Adelman system because he doesn't create for anyone else, but he was always good spotting up waiting for Yao, and offered the occasional penetration-blind-pass play. Head, in the right situation is a fine player. Just as good as a Daniel Gibson.
Anyone saying Head didn't fit our style wasn't paying attention. Adelman praised him for his off-ball movement. He made great cuts to the basket. He found the open spot and never held the ball. When Adelman first got here, Head was probably the quickest person from the JVG era to adjust to the new offense. Saying he didn't fit because he couldn't create is like saying Hayes doens't fit because he can't shoot from the high post. We have lots of wings that can't create. Head isn't here anymore simply because he couldn't play defense and was too small. If he were 6'6" and played even mediocre defense he'd probably still be a rocket.
I totally agree with you. Adelman was very impressed with him in the begining. I also think his lack of ball handling skills was another reason why he isnt a rocket now. But mainly it was his defense in the end.
Head was always valuable asset for Rockets off the bench constantly giving support to starters. He had some lows but he's a great shooter and a teammate so it's no surprise, well at least to me, that he is getting playing time in Indy.
I always wrote him off like a lot of fans after the bust playoffs... if he can show up in playoffs then he'll be a complete BA.
