It is a shame, I think that Harris might have been pretty good if he could have worked his way onto the court outside of garbage time. And I'd loved to have gotten to see that outside shot of his that they say he picked up on in the D-League and internationally.

But like I said in another Harris thread, unfortunately, he sized about the same as a SG or SF and right now we are loaded with at position and PF.

Yes, that is true too, witness Pops being let go, it will be interesting to see if they sign him to a 10 day contract.

I would guess they would NOT do that, as they would like to keep their options open for a time they might need him back and would not want to waste one of only two 10 day contracts a player may sign.

Yep. With Budinger back there is no reason to sign Harris to a 10 day deal.

Well, Actually if the Rox would have signed Wafer they would either have to waive him or let his contract become guaranteed as Bima stated. Even if they sent down Taylor he would still count as part of the roster.

It seems as if the they will keep the roster spot empty to be flexible for any trades that might happen with "you know who". His salary is so massive they will most likely have to take mutiple players back.. At this point if they sign anyone to a contract it will be guaranteed (with th exception of ten day's) and will count towards the cap and TAX if waived...

This is probably a sign that Von Wafer is ready to finally pass his physical.

I can almost bet on it.

This is unbelievable. The guy has been signed and released by the same team three times now. I wonder if this is a reccord.

Pig Miller might hold that record...not sure.

Either way, the guy played in a Rockets game with a toothpick in his mouth.

    Total badass

I'm not the most informed as of late, nor am I a "cap-ologist", but might the waiving of Harris have something to do with needing to clear a spot on the roster for an extra player that we might be getting back through a trade involving McGrady?

Well thats always a chance, but I think the timing of it represents what Bima pointed out.

I think Bima's explanation was the most simple and thus the most logical.

    But I like your optimism!

This right here is a logical fallacy. Don't go copy pasting Occam's razor wikipedia articles, cause it simply is false.

Bima is more than likely correct though.

    Straight from Von's twitter:

"goin good im takin a physical tom so prey for me"

That means he is going to take a physical with the Rockets tomorrow and if he passes then he will sign a deal within the next 48 hours.
