Gary Kubiak and Josh McDaniels: Coodinators not Coaches

I was ready to give up on Kubiak in the middle of the year. Currently, I'm ready to let him prove his case in a contract year.

So basically you're saying that most coaches with an OC background can't succeed as HC, nor can they have a great defense...

Now, if you're saying we need better/more proven defensive minds in the coaching staff, I'm all for it. We've devoted a lot of coaching resources to the offensive side (namely, paying decent money for Alex Gibbs as an offensive line coach). Time to get the defense an ideology.

 

Ironically, the offense's ineptitude in the red zone and tendency to turn the ball over there is probably the biggest culprit in us not making the playoffs. The defense is on the verge of becoming easily a top 10 defense with the addition of a good DT and a replacement for Dunta.

As I said in this thread, history goes against Kubiak getting us to the next step if he did not do it this season. However, he was so close and we were just a couple of plays away from it that I'm willing to let him have one more shot. Next year is do or die for him.

 

Here's what I've noticed...especially this year:

There are just some people out there who have decided that they don't like Gary Kubiak. Plain and simple. So, they decide to take to the message boards and post crap like this (read above). And, like a complete idiot...I decide to click on the thread. Finally, I end up apologizing to myself for wasting my time reading it (referring to the above mentioned pile of fecal matter). So, I might as well waste someone else's time by replying.

 

I dont have much faith in Kubiak at all but you have to admit he's a better coach than McDaniels. That dude should be out after one season. When your players hate you after one season thats not a good sign.

 

McDaniels is a moron. At least players like kubiak.

 

Mcnair hired him cause he was an OC, and a awesome one at that when he was with Denver. I kind of lost respect from him right from the get go cause he said David Carr could lead us to the Super Bowl in his interview. But year after year the Texans has gotten better and if the Texans did get another coach, they would be going backwards. Losing Kyle to his Dad is gonna hurt a little. With the way the Texans play with him as the OC, I wonder why Mcnair won't offer him more money to stay.

 

I don't think money would change Kyles mind.
He just wants to coach with daddy.

 

Could you kindly point out the head coaches who are experts on offense, defense and special teams? I'll hang up and listen.
