See the problem with that is that Yao is not good enough to turn it on and off whenever he wants. A prime Shaq was just that damn good. Shaq could sit for a few games and then come in and be a dominant force right away, but Yao looks totally out of Sync when he doesn't play a few games. It usually takes Yao several games to get back to his dominant self. It just doesn't make sense for this team to keep Yao. We have finally started playing a motion offense 90% of the time and if Yao comes back we have to switch our style of play again and IMO the style we play with Yao is not good enough for the whole team to play around him. As good as Yao is, he is just not capable of carrying team with his style of play. It doesn't make sense to limit the game of everyone else just for Yao. I would rather have everybody playing to their full potential and if that means trading Yao away for a more mobile center, then I say we do it.
Remember Morey is only the General Manager, statements can't always be considered Gospel truth!! When Les Alexander says no player is untouchable you believe it.
Exactly. It amazes me how people here give Yao a free pass over something they hold over guys like Tmac, Ariza, etc. on a daily basis. These guys are all rocket players, treat them the same way.
Read page 1, 5 and 6, and I think you all miss the point. The BIGGEST arguments about Yao not untouchable should be: - Yao may not fit into Adelman's system on the offense, as he is not particularly mobile (He will fit in well on the defense. In fact, you can argue that Rockets allowing many layups is due to lack of Yao's dominance in the paint on defense, but that's besides the point) - If Morey is willing to trade Yao, he will get drooling interests around the league, and Rockets should be able to get really good player(s) not named Lebron or Kobe in return. I'd say Miami is probably willing to part with Dwade for Yao (flame on? )
I will bite... Why the F would Miami do that trade? Morey have pictures of Heat players selling crack to children that he can use to blackmail the Heat? The only teams that would want Yao would be teams in finicial trouble, no one is going to give up value for a 7'6 30 year old injury prone center with weight related injury woes.
I love Yao....LOVE Him.........but if New Jersey offered a package that included Brooke Lopez, I would think seriously hard about it. DD

I would take him for Yao too. I just think that Yao's injuries are such a risk......hopefully he comes back healhier than ever, but I would say he is untouchable. DD
It wasn't an assumption. It was a quick, exclamatory response, demonstrating my surprise that someone named "chenjy" would call Yao a "big, dumb troll," a term usually reserved for YOHs.
Ok, if that's what you want to believe. Then I'll assume that you won't make anymore "quick, exclamatory response, demonstrating [your] surprise" based on why you thought someone "named 'chenjy' would call Yao a 'big, dumb troll,' a term usually reserved for YOHs."
Brook Lopez? Seriously? LOL, the only reason I'll trade Yao for Lopez is if I'm pretty sure Yao will get injured again. Bogut on the other hand, is another matter entirely, and considering Harris did draft Yi after all...
Anyone who's hoping Yao gets traded is wasting their time and should just move on to some other topic. He's as close to untouchable as anyone in the league -- even Kobe or LeBron. It's not just because of his size and talent, but because of his marketability around the world. Read the recent posts about the Rockets' popularity in China. The Rockets would be crazy to give that up.
