This is amazing. Down to the wire. I hope we're not saying "so close but yet so far" later this evening.
Can't really blame the Raiders... Great teams control their own destiny and to blow 5 games this season is on the Texans.
I still don't think it's good for their psyche to have their first round opponent be the team that beat them the previous week, even it's because they didn't try. Regardless, the Bengals will play a team that beat them in the regular season in the first round.
If they don't play any of their regulars, they get a live look at the best the Jets have to offer, while the Jets get no info on them.
I can't believe the Jets will probably make it just because they were handed their last 2 games. Damn Colts.
So Pittsburgh is out and the Texans are essentially half way there. God, I hope the Bengals are thirsty for revenge.
Even if every single that we needed to happen was likely, which wasn't the case, it was still so many things that we probably had a 5% chance at best of making the playoffs 4 weeks ago. Even just expecting us to win out seemed like an enormous challenge.
Denver had to lose to Oakland and KC, and Pittsburgh had to lose to Oakland and Cleveland (while beating the Ravens) for the Texans to be in it. That's about as far-fetched as it comes.
That's the thing though. Not counting the Texans actually winning out many of the things needed to happen were somewhat likely. It hasn't been a miracle to get the Texans to this point.
Yep, they rested their starters and let the Warriors win. The Clippers upset the Suns earlier that day with a gutty performance (similar to our win against the Pats). Then, as we all know, the Warriors crushed the Mavs in the playoffs, avenging the Clippers. So let's hope the Bengals coach is basketball fan.
Im proud of our team today, regardless. Though Im seriously getting annoyed on how the Bengals get to choose who they want next week. And the Jets may have had a red carpet laid out for them these last 2 weeks, and walk right in the playoffs.
I never used the word "miracle." And there were several unlikely things, some of which were pointed out above by another poster.
