Perhaps Adelman wanted another outside shooting threat to go with Landry's inside game. Even if he's struggling, Ariza is a better choice for that role. Looking at the game log, you can see how much the Rockets went to Landry during the final minutes. The following took place after Ariza subbed in for Lowry and until Landry fouls out. Lowry Substitution replaced by Ariza, 03:27 remaining Brooks Free Throw 2 of 2 (Houston is up 91-86) Ariza gets defensive rebound Landry makes reverse layup Landry turnover, stolen by Okafor Landry misses jump shot Landry picks up 5th foul Hayes picks up 4th foul (shooting) Ariza misses 3pt shot Landry picks up offensive foul, fouls out (Hornets up 94-93) Hayes subs in for Landry. A little later Paul makes shot (Hornets up 96-93) Basically, Landry couldn't get it done. The rest of the way we're forced to shoot 3s. Lowry subs in for Hayes Brooks misses 3pt shot Lowry picks up 5th foul Ariza makes driving layup (Hornets up 98-95) Battier fouls, Hornets get free throws Ariza misses 3pt shot GAME OVER
Tough game to lose but it happens in the NBA. On to the the next game. The team will be ready for the Lakers.
What I don't understand is why wasn't Scola put into the game with 4 minutes left in the 4th and the Hornest making a huge comeback. Why leave Ariza our there with his 4 TO? We needed offense toward the end and we weren't getting any. I believe Scola would've made a huge difference with his hustle play and scoring.
I'm very, very impressed with what I've seen of Okafor in the last two games against Houston. He's not a huge guy but in his own way he dominates the the paint on defense. And yeah, his defense against Landry was the best I've seen this season.
After a tough loss like this in which our best player was probably brooks throughout the game, lowry was probably 2nd with scola, it sounds very annoying to write Cp3 schools brooks. It just sounds like after most losses all I hear is we need true PG and brooks sucks. And most if not all are chinese fans, no offense. Sorry you took it so seriously but was that really necessary? It was a typical troll response and I was frustrated with the game. Don't know why it was so important to you but w.e
Does anyone else think that Landry couldn't mentally get in the game because of what happened last time they played in New Orleans?
Exactly. Paul is the best PG in the league and is a monster, saying he schooled brooks sounds redundant and hornets troll like.
Last time, they went home after the NO game. This time, they're on a road trip. I'm pretty sure it was the foul trouble and Okafor that kept him off his game.
I meant last season, when he got shot after playing in New Orleans, not Tuesday's game, I would personally feel weird with what happened last March.
I know what you meant, but the circumstances are different, and he doesn't seem to be dwelling on it. The dude is a BEAST.
How hard is that for people to understand? They lost on the road to a team with 2 all stars and one is a top 5 player. They made plays and the rockets didn't. Its one loss and only 1 loss. no choke job, just a loss.
It was a choke job, up 7 with about 2 and a half minutes left....I may have to break down those last 3 minutes on offense and defense..... Give out some Choker points for each screw up....by each individual player. Trevor is who I was afraid he was....Shandon Anderson v2.0. DD
there is no "go to guy " in this team. This is a team and whoever is open or mismatch should take the shot. Ariza tries to create but battier isnt ****1ng moving or he is 5 steps behind the 3 point line or out of bounds. Softest player EVER!!!!
trevor didn't know the curse of the clutchfans b****ing and moaning followed the #1 jersey #3 jersey is the curse of the jettisoned you've worn out your welcome seriously the Ariza threads are pushing out the Tmac threads from the 1st page
