Are you a new fan because the Rockets were decimated with injuries in 05-06 season. The injury bug was so bad that Wesley was playing with broken ribs.
Steve Novak was putting up insane numbers in the D-League. Just sayin... It's a good sign but let's see what he does against NBA competition.
Quantity, yes. Quality, no. Their best 2 players are Roy and Aldridge. From what I hear, Aldridge's ankle is not serious and he shouldn't miss much, if any, time... unless there's been an update on Aldridge that I missed.
This is significant because it is his first game back from an injury. For the record, Mike Harris was putting up those numbers and the forums wet themselves.
Wow going down one by one but they definitly arent feeling our pain since roy and aldridge are basically ok They'd rather have these players go down then having two cores out for a year
Mills could turn out to be a stud. I wasn't trying to knock him. I'm just saying D-League numbers can be grossly misleading. If people were jizzing their pants over Harris' numbers and I saw it, I would've said the same thing I said a few posts up.
Gotcha. Regardless, what do you guys think would be worse? A. Losing both Roy and Aldridge* for extended time. B. Their current situation. * this assumes Aldridge's injury is nothing serious which is the last thing I heard I'd go with "A" being worse, which is essentially what the Rockets faced when Yao and McGrady were hurt.
"A" is much worse. It isn't debatable. Without Roy and LA, the Blazers compete for worst record in the West. Remember how young they are.
Sure, but there is not much else you can go on, but to watch the guy play in the D-League. How else can you see how he is doing? We can't watch practice and watching him sit on the bench isn't going to tell us anything. He shot the ball well and handled it well. He didn't score heaps in the paint, but what impressed me was his ability to pass out of the paint.
How else? You can't until he's facing NBA competition. Player A could put up huge stats like Mills did in this game and be borderline useless in the NBA (see Steve Novak's D-League numbers... or Joey Dorsey's). Player B could put up huge stats and turn into a great NBA player. It's certainly a good thing that he's dominating the D-League or it would be almost guaranteed that he'd be a scrub in the NBA. I think most people expected Mills to be able to do this at that level. It really doesn't tell us much. We won't know if he's the next Steve Novak or the next [insert good player of your choice] or somewhere in between until he starts logging minutes in the NBA.
Hmm wonder what's better, having all your role players injured (Blazers), or having your superstars injured (Rockets)?
Right, but all you know at this point is that he isn't worst than a Steve Novak type and I think everybody already knew that. His statistics, or his observable performance for that matter, in the D-League are fairly meaningless. You don't know much other than he isn't absolutely horrible. Didn't you already know that? Despite his gawdy numbers, he could still end up being a total and complete bust. That's how meaningless D-League numbers and performances are. See Joey Dorsey, Steve Novak, James "The Flight" White, etc... They all beasted in the D-League.
