A deal has to center around Iggy is vital as a starting point. I dont mind getting Brand despite his massive contract. I think he just needs a change of scenery and may be able to start at center instead of Hayes.

Seems to me that Morey will require 2 of the Philly core in order to take on Dalembert or Brand.

    McGrady and Lowry
    for
    Iguodala/Speights/Young/Williams (pick 2) and Dalembert

In other words, the "no talk for a week" will continue

I would go crazy if Iggy became a Rocket.

That puts Philly over the cap by 7 million with about $25 coming off of the books just with Cook and Tracy at the end of the season. With Kapono's 7 million they will have about $25 mill to throw around to a Free Agent. Or they can keep that cap room, with a few more early draft picks, as Brand's contract expires.

I'd actually be excited by that as a 76ers fan.

I think Morey's gunning for Iggy. Asking for other young talents - Young, Williams or Speights - feels like a smokescreen.

Incoming: Iggy and a bad contract (Dalembert or Brand)
Outgoing: McGrady and a good contract (Brooks, Landry or Lowry)
is what I'm guessing will go down if it were to happen. But I'd love it if Morey can get away with not giving up one of our young guys.

a trade both sides might agree on:

    mcgrady
    landry
    lowry

    for

    iguodala
    brand

the sixers unload the bad contract of brand and get mcgrady's 23 mio $ expiring contract and two young bargain players in landry and lowry. the pretty high price for all of this would be iguodala.

the rockets on the other hand would have to give up serious talent but they need another star and would get the best player of the deal in iguodala. brand's contract is horrendous and he's not the same player he once was, but he's the ideal player for landry's role and would even be a more than adequate backup for yao.

    Tmac + Cook + JT + Dorsey = Iguodala.

    Fair trade to me.

    nope.

any trade including Brand is a dead trade.

Landry is about as tradable for us as Lebron is in Cleveland.

Iggy makes 12 million a year and you are giving away about 26 million in talent. In other words, the salaries do not match.

    Are you CD?

The is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for the Rockets to give up young core talent in any deal involving McGrady.

We have a solid playoffs team going right here, and will have at least $7million in cap space (assuming we keep all the current pieces) to play with. There is no reason to throw away a key piece like Brooks or Landry in order to bring back Dalembert + Iguodala.

Morey says a deal involving Iguodala 'has a chance' - ie: we'd consider it but we're not going to screw ourselves.

If you haven't got the memo: the core players are here - what can we bring to support them.

I'm certain Dalembert is at least 'interesting' to the brass - a genuine shot-blocker who is mobile enough to run with the team and has anchored a pretty good defensive team for a few seasons.

The only 'young talent' I could see the Rockets moving would be someone like Budinger - precisely because if we brought in Iguodala, then there would be no PT for Chase anyway.

For mine a deal would look like: McGrady + Cook for Dalembert + Iguodala --> and possibly we throw in Budinger to make it happen.

The great part would be that it saves us a heckuva lot of money this year (around $12million) - which would pay Dalemberts contract for next season...

But I'm not giving up Landry or Brooks or Scola for crap contracts just so we can have a shot at Iguodala - I really like him, but not if we gotta take Dalembert and give up talent...
