rhester, tmac needs more playing time for him to recover the rhythm/consistency/confidence that is necessary for his game to thrive. it's understandable adelman doesn't want to do that. he'll move on and perform well i'm sure. and hopefully we get good pieces in return. the tmac era is over. it's best we stop threads like this b/c basically, tmac is no longer a rocket (unofficially of course).
I hope the whole league, GM, Fans think like Rhester because that would skyrocket his trade value. It's not like Rockets are the only ones with access to past videos on T-mac. I'm pretty sure some front offices are reviewing them as we speak. Hopefully Rhester is right and we get something nice in return.
A. It's the ****ty Clippers. They just lost to the Blazers without a front line of Juwan Howard, Jeff Pendergraph, and Dante Cunningham. B. The part that's most like the McGrady of old was the lack of effort on defense. C. Adelman saw enough of him in practice already, and in other games. D. If that TMAC is back, what happened against Orlando the next game?
to move on from your life would mean dying. all of you who say he is done are basing your conclusions off of the same videos we tmac fans are. NO ONE knows where tmac is, just stop with all the tmac threads, there is no point anymore, we all have our opinions and its a subject that no one is really going to change their minds about.
It is fair to judge where he is, but short sighted to predict where he will be. I always wish former Rocket players do well when they leave, except off course for standing in our way of winning the ultimate prize.
Dang, just can't wait to hate I care little or even less about TMac at this point he isn't a Rocket and that closes the door for me... but I happened to go to a game where he played very well and I was surprised and even a little hopeful. I don't feel any remorse about him leaving just us possibly losing out if he can still play to the level I watched him play. I will be happy and shocked if we get any thing of value for him. We lose in my opinion because he still can play and it won't be for us. Oh well, all of you who hate McGrady, get ready to hate someone else because he's gone. I just want to win a championship. I predicted many many posts ago that this team would completely rebuild before we win another championship and I was shot down about like this. We'll see.
Oh my. Some of you will never grasp this, so the rest of it will be forced to watch y'all flounder until you follow Mac to his next team. You do realize that the Rockets see a lot more than a 6-8 minute stretch over several games that you get see? You do realize this, right? They probably closely monitored his training with Grover, they've seen him in warm-ups, they've seen him in the same stretch of NBA time that you have and most importantly, they see a whole hell of a lot of him during practices that you've never seen.
Acknowledged, but even at his best, let along where he was 2 years ago, McGrady never got any team close to a championship. His return is not about to do the same for this team now, not in his current condition, and not even in the condition he was in 2 seasons ago. There are 30 teams in the league, it's VERY hard to win a championship even if you have good management or great talent (think the Kings teams or the Blazers teams Adelman had). This team may well not win a championship for quite some time (whether with or without McGrady, really), but I believe they are taking the wise course of action: accumulating talent, and looking to add a star by trade or internal development. They have a shot within the next few years, it may only be a 25% shot, but it's worth taking since most teams don't even get that kind of window of opportunity.
The few that post in this Internet site. Notice how I only have a handful of members in my hater list?
I'm telling you, whatever team he goes too I'm sure he'll get 20+ minutes, and he'll quickly get back into game shape and will start getting 20+ points a game and you'll regret trading him.
I think what many T-Mac fans aren't realizing is how much his injuries have affected his defense(which of course aren't on highlight reels). Sure, T-Mac was never known for giving a damn on defense, but he was CAPABLE of defense. That is, he could play defense in spots when the situation demands it. i.e. against Dirk a few seasons ago. Hence, he wasn't really a defensive liability, because JVG or Adelman could tell him to bust ass for 5 minutes down the stretch. Today, T-Mac CAN'T play defense. As in, if plays 20+mpg, opponents will pick on him ruthlessly because he no longer has the athleticism to defend adequately. And lord knows he's not going to make up the deficiency by trying extra hard.
If he would have stayed in Toronto he had VC they could have been great but he wanted to leave Toronto to be "the man"...okay then in Orlando he complains about being "the man" and demands help when he should have just stuck it out...alright now he's in a contract year and wants out because he needs playing time for another contract. Do you see a pattern here? He's a selfish **** and I wouldn't mind if we Marbury'ed him the whole season.
