    Tmac + Ariza

    for

    Iggy + Dalembert

makes a ton of sense for both side.

    He had me at Iguodala

I think Iggy is exactly what the DM and RA are hopping the Trevor turns into. He is certainly over priced as is Dalembert but if it helps push us over the top with out having to give anyone but TMac then we would have to do it IMO.
Both Iggy and Dalembert are still young and could both provide key pieces to a Rockets championship team.

Dalembert would provide a legit big man to play center as Yao's sub or his back up. His contract is guaranteed through next season and certainly he would have to take a fairly substantial pay cut to get another contract from the Rockets but if not then he we still have Anderson to back up Yao. Also Dalembert would add depth at both center and power forward positions.

Igguodala would be the real prize IMO. He would be the perfect 2 guard in RA's system and he would be here for a long time.

Dude we are not going to trade Ariza.

T-Mac + filler for Iggy + Dalembert make perfect sense. Iggy fits the description of what Morey was looking for and Dalembert would be a good back up when Yao returns.

We are not even guaranteed a good free agent in 2010...we could end up with nothing. This deal would take a lot of stress off of Morey next summer.

Philly isnt going to give up Iggy for cap relief alone. It might as well be our worst player that actually has trade value.

The line up will look something like this

    2009-2010
    C: Dalembert/Hays (for defense)/Anderson (for offense)
    PF: Scola/Landry/Hays
    SF: Ariza/Battier
    SG: Iggy/Buddinger/Taylor
    PG: Brooks/Lowry

    2010-2011
    C: Yao/Dalembert/Anderson
    PF: Scola/Landry/Hays
    SF: Ariza/Battier
    SG: Iggy/Buddinger
    PG: Brooks/Lowry

    Taylor sent to D-League

We would be a young and fast.

It's a good deal but don't hope on it, with RA's love for Ariza.

I absolutely love the idea of McGrady for Iggy + Dalembert.

First, if we allow T-Mac to expire, we won't be able to get anywhere near the level of player of Iguodala with a little more than the MLE. Iggy would be a great fit here, and he has the awesome nickname 'Iggy'. So that's a plus. Who doesn't like saying 'Iggy'?

As for Dalembert, while grossly overpaid, he would not only be a fantastic potential backup to Yao if we were to hold on to him until his contract expires and resign him for a considerably more reasonable deal - he fills a huge need for this team right now. He's a shot blocker. We sure could use one of those.

If the package is Iggy/Brand, as many have said, I'm not interested unless they include their unprotected 1st round pick. Brand for 4 years is really tough to swallow. Remember when the Clippers were devastated they didn't resign him? I bet they're glad they dodged that bullet now.

btw. I repped the OP. great find.

this is a very good trade. iggy is not an all-star, but kind of borderline (he's peaked already i believe anyways), but he fits with the no star mentality of our team.

and he's a fairly clutch player.

    Interesting.

    How about this:

Rockets receive: Andre Igoudala + Jason Kapono
    Sixers receive: Tracy McGrady

    Do it Morey. :D

We would have to take in too many bad contracts if we did that trade. That's a lot of money going the Sixers way.

    1. The Rockets aren't going to take back a huge contract like Brand or Dalembert

    2. That means a 3rd team has to be involved to make this trade realistic...

-The Kings are looking for a big man and its rumored they have interest in Samuel Dalembert.

-The Sixers are going to want financial relief out of this trade so they will be looking for expiring deals. The Sixers also are interested in trading Dalembert.

this is what I thought of...

The Rockets get a potential franchise player in Iggy.. they get an expiring contract with Kapano... and they have to take back a bad contract= Nocioni

The Kings get their big man.. and also get Cook's expiring deal

The Sixers get TMac and Kenny Thomas' expiring deals

No. We wouldn't. We could, hypothetically, send them McGrady, Budinger, Landry and Lowry and still only take back Iggy and Dalembert. It would be 28.6 million outgoing salary for 24.25 million incoming. That is within the trade guidelines. Trade works.

Now, we'd never ever ever ever ever ever ever even think about doing that. But hypothetically, we could without taking back anymore in contracts than we're already discussing.

Looks pretty good to me. I actually don't mind taking teh bad contract of Dalembert, because he does makes us better this year and will add depth for next year.

Jason Kapono is an overpaid Steve Novak...no way we do this trade..

The only trade that makes sense for the Rockets would be Dalembert and Iggy...but i have a hard time believing that Philly would be ready to unload Iggy. Overpaid? Sure...but he's a young commodity who is only going to get better and is an ALL-AROUND player which is very tough to find in this league. If this offer is on the table.. I'm sure Morey and co. wont think twice...but dont think Philly's gonna pull the trigger on this one.

If we can get Iguodala without moving brooks or landry we have to take advantage

Why wouldn't we do that one? We'd get an expiring in Kapono. We need money this offseason to resign at least Lowry and Landry. Scola would be a plus. My ideal trade would be:

    Rockets receive: Iggy, Kapono, Speights
Sixers receive: McGrady, Dorsey, Taylor, 1st Round Pick

Kapono isnt expiring and that is a robbery of the sixers. The value to them is getting out of long term deals (dalembert/brand),and speights is a prize.

I probably could have said that better. I like Iguodala, I think he would be a perfect fit here in Houston but I think his scoring ability is somewhat overrated. He's very talented in other areas and I might be one of the few people that thinks he's living up to his contract. The problem is that if you spend $12M on him (an all-star caliber player, yet more of a second fiddle) how do you expect to pay the superstar that you almost always need to win it all. The trade would be a no-brainer though. To get a player as good as he is for just an expiring contract is impressive.

I agree with most of what baller said on the page 2. Oh, and yes, Andre Iguodala is a far better player than Kevin Martin.

Philly would never make a deal with Speights included. This guy is only in his 2nd year avging 13ppg, 6rpg, 0.8 bpg in 22 mins/game. That's very CARL LANDRY like numbers...

Over 48 mins that's 27.6ppg, 12rpg, and 1.7bpg. And with the amt he's getting paid...it's a steal and very well could a building block for their future if they can unload Brand's contract.

There's no reason we would even wanna pick up Kapono's contract if we dont have to. He doesn't help us anywhere. We're better off picking up Dalembert's contract cuz he fills a need on our roster.
