It amazes me after how much positive talk there is here about our point guard situation and our power forward situation that everyone is thinking about trying to get point guards and power forwards through a trade. I would be happy if we picked up someone like Dalembert who can start this season, but next season with Yao back, and can play significant minutes off of the bench. Someone like him with some fillers and a draft pick here and there would be enough for me. We need to think more about next season rather than this one. We won't be winning a Championship this season.
I agree that it would be a very good scenario for us. But I don't think Chicago would do this. Miller is a rotation player for them, he has played in every single game for them, averaging 22 min/game. In spite of their horrible season so far they are currently 7th in the East and will probably make the playoffs. So I don't believe they will dump Miller just to get rid of Salmons' contract, who might opt out after the season anyways. If they really want to get rid of Salmons now they will probably find a way without trading away Miller.
Hey fanatic, Long time no see, so....anything new? Nice sig BTW, I guess you can add Adelman and Morey now, huh? DD
It amazes me that when on camera you come across as a mature adult, but when you are not on camera, I can't picture you but nothing more than a immature little child. Anyway, as I said, it will be difficult to find a deal where we actually get what we want. Morey will try to play hardball, but I doubt it will work. Most likely option is what I said over a year ago. his contract tuns out and we try our hand at Free Agency. Hopefully we just buy him out and make a run for the play-offs without this drama.
The emoticons should give a hint...the winky guy...don't you ever go out for a beer with your buddies and they tease a little? That is what I am doing. I don't think it will be hard to get a deal, but it will be hard to get the RIGHT deal. I don't see them having any incentive to buy him out....unless he takes a MASSIVE cut to get the team under the lux tax...and that would be stupid of Tmac to do...I mean we are talking like $4 million this year..... DD
Now, if we offered to pay Tracy 3/4 of what he is owed so he can sign with someone and he says no then he can sit for the season. The reason my view changes then if because he shows he cares more about making his money than being able to play. However, let's wait and see what happens in the next month. If we can't get a good deal ina month, we won't get one. So cut him loose. As much as I wanted Tracy to stay and contribute, I'd much rather we stop all teh drama, then hold on to it.
How come there ain't no options for Detroit? Their ticket sales are down 42%! Their ticket sales are down $400k per game compared to last year. That's $32.8 mil for the season($400k x 82 games), if they maintain the same ticket sales. Detroit's economy is getting even worse, so these projections might be optimistic. http://ken-berger.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/11838893/18850386
DD,it seems to me that you're going back on your words, you have been quite optimistic about getting the right deal because of his expiring contract.
Don't mean to rain on your parade, however, the Piston will only lose $16.4 mln from last year. NBA teams only have 41 home games not 82. Plus the Dtrain will come back soon.
I agree we need a wing more than PG, but I COMPLETELY DISAGREE on not getting Paul if opportunity arises. Brooks is NO CP3, not even close. Brooks is a great scorer, but jesus guys come on you are giving him too much credit. Paul turned a 8/6 player (for 3 years David West) into an All-Star. He turned around Peja's career for a few years (before he got hurt again, but hell Paul can't control that). He made Chandler into an offensive force, CHANDLER, that guy is 100% worthless on offense. Come on guys, I love this scrappy Rockets team as much as anyone, but CP3 would make Scola/Landry/Andersen/Budinger, ETC. into All-Star caliber players, not to mention the freaking Superstar calls CP3 would get which can only help.
Washington should definitely be a target for Morey, they have tons of quality assets and the contracts to match up with TMAC. This is from an article describing Arenas and his gun issues but with a clear message at the end. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-arenasprobe123109&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
I don't think Morey would see Dalembert as an $11mil bench warmer. I think he'd see him as a somewhat capable backup that could be a great expiring for whatever team is looking to rebuild in 2011. Morey has said how nice it is to have big expirings in the past...Kwame for Gasol, Ray Allen and Wally. Lotta $10mil men to be possibly had next year in a trade.
We have a lot of youth, maybe its time to start looking at our first rounder as a trade chip. Tmac+1st rounders in 2010 and 2012+filler if needed for Dalembert and Iguadola?
Hayes/Dalembert/Andersen Scola/Landry/Andersen Ariza/Battier/Budinger Iggy/Budinger/Taylor Brooks/Lowry
I wasn't implying that Dalembert wouldn't help. I just don't believe that Morey is going to pay $11M to a backup center, no matter how much he could help. Similar to they liking Goradat, but not willing to pay him over $3M. I don't see Morey tying up that kind of money for a guy who's not a starter and would play limited minutes.
Why would Philly include Iguadola in a deal for TMAC? They'd like to get rid of Dalembert's contract, but not to the point where they'd give up Iguadola.
I'd add them of the list to keep an eye on to see what happens. Well not keep an eye on since they appear willing to trade anyone but keep them as one of my options. I'd also monitor what is going on in NO and Philly. 1. NO - where are they headed? What is the status of David West? If West gets moved, well look out. CP3 may ask out. However, I still think any Paul trade is very unlikely in the near future. Though, I still monitor the situation to see. My 1st option 2. Philly - it doesnt appear Philly is headed anywhere soon. Question is, are they willing to give up now and include one or some of their young pieces for some cap relief? If so, you could potentially work out a deal here but would probably have to take back a bad contract. Are you willing to do that? Again, monitor and see what happens. My T-2nd option 3. Washington - Like Philly, they dont appear to be heading anywhere soon. I dont know the status of some of the contracts but they got some potentially appealing players on their team. (Miller? Stevenson? Butler? Jamison? Really, take your pick and they could probably be had at the right price.) And then you have the other teams that are tossed around in rumors.(MIA, NYK, CHI, SAC, UTAH, etc) Though imo, dont expect a McGrady trade anytime soon as DM & co. are likely to take this into Feb. and up to the deadline to explore all his options and/or any last minute things that may come up. Also, dont be surprised if no move was made. It seems they wont move TM for just the sake of moving him.
The splash move that DMorey can make to bring an established guy for TMAC would be for guys like Iggy or Butler maybe even West as they are young and look available for cap relief. I would assume we might need to add Scola to a package if we go for the homerun with these guys but considering contracts and age that seems to be an acceptable direction.
believe or not when mcgrady does get traded i wont be surprised if playing against houston murdering us over 20 pts and letting us knw how we were so stupid of losing hope of him playing for us.. all he wanted was more mins... funny part is tmac made 10 points in 7 mins and that game ariza made 0 points in more then 20 mins.. if yall are idiots to trade a healthy tmac the so be it. and when he plays us on a different team beware of tmac... and haters are the best fans and **** he still in the nba unlike fans talking stupid crap adelman even missed him rockets player miss him but all the fans hate him thats the real reason he decided to leave it was dnt get it wrong it was actually tmacs idea to leave rmr that not yours or rockets management...we didnt kick him out he just left.... how can so many pple hate him maybe cuz when we keep losing in the first round we had van gundy then rick adelman who arived 2 years ago lol mcgrady only played for one year with him /////??? always rmr this no i in team he took the blame cuz he didnt want the fans to think the rockets suck but he did let us knw that the coaches suck.. they make the plays hello are yall idiots ---haters are not alowed
