NO.........i dnt wna t-mac to get trade until the end of the season or all star game lots of people voted for tmac but i tell u that i want mcgrady back into the all star clothers please dont trade tmac until the end of the all star game please if ur angry at me FINE =='
Tmac and Brian Cook to New Jersey Courtney Lee, Bobby Simmons, Tony Battie and Eduardo Najera to Houston New Jersey does this deal to improve tickets sells this year and also gets 25 million in expiring deals to their horrible team. Houston does this for 16 million in expiring and you get a young player in Courtney Lee (who they wanted in the draft) and Najera's contract which he just fits in with the team. Thoughts?
I'm reading this thread, and I can't believe people would not do the CP3 trade proposed by Simmons. I mean, its freaking Chris Paul! He would do wonders for this team...taking all of Ariza's ball handling duties (Goodness knows we need someone to do that), drawing attention away from all of our other players, allowing them to do what they do best. I think New Orleans would be out of their mind to do this trade...but if their financial situation gets desperate, what choice would they have? I think if we subsitute Scola for Landry in that trade, it may be the best offer NO would get...giving up Landry would be hard, but for a player like Paul, you can't pass it up. So it would be T-mac+Landry+Brooks for Peja+Paul+Posey. We would be in salary cap hell, but with that lineup, we would be serious conenders...the depth overall on our team wouldn't be hurt much at all. Lowry/Paul at PG, a wing rotation of Posey/Ariza/Bat/C-Bud, and a still solid big rotation of Scola/Chuck/Peja/Andersen. And with Yao coming back next year.... This trade would allow us to make noise in the playoffs this year and be major contenders the next...however it is very unlikely. But like Kevin Garnett: Anything is possible!
MMMM... Give up youth and and potential to get mcgrady out the door? NO SIR....Instant title contender? Have you seen the hornets record with those guy, they have made 0 runs for a title. if you take landry and brooks away from this team you have 4 wins so far....Incompetent
Forgive me for my ignorance of the trade talk, but I was curious about one of the trade scenarios. If somehow we were able to swing a trade for Chris Paul would there be some chance of freeing up enough money for free agency to land a big star this summer?
Perhaps I needed to be clearer...I don't think we would be "instant" contenders but with Yao back next year, we will most definitely be. And I get your point, XBLRocketman111, it will be quite risky to trade away all that young talent. However, I think this is the type of deal the Rox would have to make...b/c of Yao. I think Morey and Les have made it clear that the organization still totes Yao as their centerpiece b/c of his impact both on and off the court. Now, Yao isn't getting any younger, and with his latest injury he might not have much more time in the NBA. We do have very good young players...but by the time they have fully matured, Yao may already be ineffective on the court. And although Landry and Brooks are talented, could they be players you build a team around? I'm not quite sure, and thats why I think if a deal like this arises, we swing for the fences and take it.

After reviewing alot of trades since the start of the season, these are the ones that I think will benefit Houston going forward: Houston and Golden State (Houston would need to cut some players to fit the 15man roster limit. Also I like the idea of getting CP3, however I havent been able to work out a trade on the ESPN trade machine that works. Something to do with the BYC (Base Year Compensation) for CP3. Has anyone been able to successfully create a trade for CP3 that N.O. might accept? Either way, I'd be up for trading Tmac, Brooks and Scola/Battier for CP3 plus acceptable fillers. If either of the above trades go ahead i'd be sufficiently happy. Not interested in trading for the sake of trading, it has to help the Rockets going forward. As everyone has already said ahead of me, I dont see Morey making a bad trade here, so whatever he does here (trade or no trade) I see benefiting the Rockets. It will be very interesting to see going forward what transpires. I hope for a trade, because if it happens it's likely to be good.
I guarantee you Morey would pull the trigger if he thought he could get CP3 in exchange for McGrady/Scola (or Landry) and Brooks. McGrady doesn't play so you don't lose anything there. CP3 takes all of Brooks minutes so you don't lose anything there (you gain BIG). Whichever PF is gone will hurt us but the other one will pick up the minutes and split them with Chuck. Posey and Peja don't fit but we still get Chris Paul!!!!
That WOULD be the big star landed lol. On the available money, I doubt there'd be anything free. It'd be even more a bloated payroll cuz with the impossibility of getting Paul, the qualifier would be taking a bunch of terrible contracts with him
These trade ideas are all awesome, EXCEPT we already have a full roster. We can't do a swap with T-Mac for 3-4 other players. Don't get me wrong, we have plenty of garbage to jettison: Brian Cook and Joey Dorsey come to mind, and I wouldn't cry over Jermaine Taylor and Trevor Ariza, but be realistic. No one can afford T-Mac and Brian Cook. They would have to send 5-6 players to swing that. No more trade ideas until you have read: 1. NBA rules on roster 2. ESPN Trade Machine results 3. BimaThugs post on how the NBA salary cap works. /thread
