Top 5 Most Nationally Televised Teams for the 02-03 season 1. L.A. (of course)-24 games 2. Sac (they're bada$$) 3. Philadelphia (A.I. can't get off tv) 4. Dallas (I'll admit, they're exciting) 5. Boston (The NBA loves that they're back) The Rockets have 6 nationally televised games next season, a lot more than last season. But what do ya'll think of the 03-04 season, I think we can definitely break into the top 5. Hell, Philly has the 3rd most televised games and AI might not even be there.
The Sonics have 13 nationally televised games for some reason. The Sonics? Thats more than the Clips, TWolves, Jazz, and of course us. The top 5 isn't surprising. If we make the playoffs we'll get more games in '03-04 but unless one of those teams falls off, we won't be top 5. Maybe in the 6-8 range and get 13-14 games.
You guys do realize schedules are subject to change? If for some reason Boston and Philly are stinking it up they can be replaced with a hotter team. LA on the other hand would just have a free pass no matter what.
last year at the beginning of the year we had 11 nationaly telivised games (because of our 45 win season the year before). however, after we started our losing streak and the injury bug started hitting, they took most of our games off national tv. and the year before that, our 45 win season we had a total of one nationally telivised game. against toronto (a win)
Kinda funny though, isn't it? Flunky: "Commissioner, Allen Iverson was just accused of threatening lives with a gun, among other things." Stern: "Oh my God! Do you know what this means?" Flunky: "Yes, Mr Commissioner, it could be a catastrophe." Stern: "And we already released the TV schedule!" Flunky: "Sir? No, we didn't sir, it's right here." Stern: (sphincter unclenching) Thank God! Give it to me! Let me see this. Sixers on TV only twelve times? We'll soon fix that. (crosses off other teams) Rockets? Suck. Grizzlies? You gotta be kidding me. The Nuggets? Who put them in there? Let's get Allen some TV time. Now, release THAT schedule. We're gonna make a fortune. I love this game!
One interesting thing I noticed: every single game between the Kings and Lakers is nationally televised. Has that ever happened before with teams that play each other four times a year? I see why the Kings and Lakers got their 24 games each... but I can't understand the Sixers and their 22. As much as some people like Iverson, the Sixers really play boring basketball. If they want to show an Eastern Conference team that much, show New Jersey... their style of basketball is at least exciting.
What will be funny is if Lewis doesn't sign with the Sonics; they are going to lose a lot of their nationally televised games. I wonder what will happen next year if kidd, duncan, and others leave their respected teams after they have already made out the nationally televised games schedule
If AI can't play this season, will they dropped all of their games? Whats the point of keeping them, who on the Sixers is good except him?
The Sonics actually made the playoffs and were better than Utah and the Clips. That's why they have more games on National TV.
