NBA houston Rockets, this despite not watching a single game last year fan since jr. high, it drove me nuts to be called a bandwagon fan 4 years later. grrrrrrrrrrr NFL the Vikings, since the 4th grade, its sad but wade wilson was my favorite player in jr. high MLB the Reds, I started to like them around 88, just in time to claim I was a fan before they won the world series College sports, the Idaho Vandals, I am suprised more teams did not list them, they are a national power well their track team is always in the top 25 nhl. . . bahhhh nascar bahhhh womens tennis. .. hmmmmmmmm I always wonder if they wear underwear underneath their skirts, cuz you see "everything" from the waist up. . . . and thats not always a good thing
NBA-Rockets NFL-Texans MLB-Astros and White Sox are the teams I like to see win NHL-If I had to pick, probably the LA Kings College Football-Longhorns College Basketball-Longhorns Favorite NBA Player: Hakeem Olajuwon Favorite MLB Player: Moises Alou

nba: HOUSTON ROCKETS (no doubt my #1 in any sport). Also Indiana Pacers, because Reggie is my man. nfl: Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans will also be there, and they may take over since Dick Vermeil is ruining this team by letting Donnie Edwards go and Tony Gonzalez might not be far behind, and seems to be obsessed with winning with Trent Green. mlb: Astros. My lone favorite in baseball. And whoever is playing the Yankees in the WS. nhl: Is it possible to like the nhl while living in Texas? I'm not a fan until the Stanley Cup, in which I pick one of the teams to root for. Favorite Players of All-Time: Reggie Miller, Dream, Clyde Drexler, Marcus Allen, Derrick Thomas (miss you DT ) Most Hated Teams: Jazz, Knicks, Yankees, Braves, Broncos, Raiders.
The Devil Rays have fans? No wonder you put a at the end of your posts...j/k . Grr...the '95 Colts, the ones that I believe upset my Chiefs after a great year because of that little b***h of a kicker Lin Elliot...don't remember how many FG's he missed that game, but I know he missed a crucial extra point. It was too long ago for me to remember vivid details (and I really don't want to), but Elliot's name makes me cringe like hearing Greg Gumble's voice after that Malone bearhug of a pick and the Stockton 3 in the WCF. Grr...
I really don't like those teams. Here are my real favorite teams and colleges to root for. NBA: Rockets, I used to like Heat, and Sonics. Back when the Heat were actually good. And the Sonics when Shawn Kemp had not too many kids, and could get his ass up to the rim. NFL: Titans, Texans, and I like watching the Rams, and I am going to like watching the Colts. MLB: Astros, and uh yeah, Astros NHL: Detroit Redwings, and Pittsburgh Penguins. I like the Redwings more. MLS: umm DC United? sure why not. WUSA: I don't know the team names, nor city or care. WNBA: Comets? Sure why not XFL: umm Stone Cold still kicks ass. English Premiere: The Hooligans Italian Seria A or whatever it's called: Gucci? Archery: Geena Davis NASCAR: neck car. hmm, Jeff Gordon, and Tony Stewart CART: Dario Franchitti, Paul Tracy, Michael Andretti, Team Kool Green, and uhh Gil DeFerrin or whatever. Is he in CART or IRL? IRL: Helio Castroneves Formula 1: Juan Pablo Montoya Bicycle : Lance Armstrong and Team United States (going) Postal Service. Golf: Eldrick Nike Woods. Se Ri Pak. okay just kidding Julie Inkster. Tennis. Marat Safin, Andy Roddick. ANNA KOURNIKOVA, That other girl Daniella Hutchnova or whatever her name is. Skateboarding: man, i haven't given a rats ass about skating in about three years, four years. Umm Andy MacDonald, or Bob Burnquist. Buckey Lasek is a dork. What happen to inliner Arlo Eisenberg or something. He was from the Dallas area if i'm not mistaken.
NBA - HOUSTON ROCKETS NFL - CHICAGO BEARS and a close second The Houston Texans NHL - CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS MLB - BALTIMORE ORIOLES and the Houston Astros I was born and raised in Texas.
1. Dallas Cowboys 2. Texas Longhorns 3. Houston Astros 4. Houston Rockets 5. Houston Comets 6. Scarface
I know the crowd was clamoring, waiting with baited breath as I have mulled my response for the last 72 hours. That, or I missed this thread being in sweltering Minneapolis for a wedding. I don't know if I've ever responded to any similar thread before, so enjoy. Baseball - White Sox, born on the south side of Chicago, and my first sports love. I still follow the Astros, but I'm a bigger Sox fan. Here's to Frank Thomas forgetting how to get to Comiskey. Soccer - Man United and whoever is playing the Germans. In international, I'll root on the Americans as well the Irish and English (due to familiarity with so many players). IMO my favorite teams to *watch* are the Dutch and Brasilians. Such passion and joy in their play. Football - hmm. I luved the Oilers. I won't ever luv a pro football team the way I luved the Warren Moon Oilers (face it, the Oliver Luck Oilers weren't luvable). I cheered hard for the Bears in 85 though I was in Houston - but when the Bears came down in 86 or 87, I wasn't rooting for them. Since the Oilers picked up and left I've become a Bears fan, though nothing like the Oilers. Hockey - Blackhawks, by default. Terrible management. Love going to games but they're not even good for bragging rights over the Red Wings inlaws :\ I only remember them being damn good for two years, both when I was in college and unable to do anything about it. I don't even need to go into the NBA stuff, just that I never liked the Bulls when I first lived in Chicago, and haven't really liked them since moving back. Hakeem was the reason I became an NBA fan, and a Rockets fan, and that's that. College will always be Notre Dame. I was brought up to be a ND person, I guess, Irish-American, Catholic, south side of Chicago... it all is tied together. My mom's father played for Rockne for a year and my dad's cousin won an Outland Trophy there (he's in the Pro Football HOF as a Bear too). I can root for UT and Florida State when they're not playing ND. Basically I root for teams that don't win much these days and leave me frustrated as all hell. That sure made 1994 and 1995 that much sweeter.
Houston Rockets Houston Astros Tennessee Titans (Texans may take their place) Dallas Stars Anna Kournikova
Another Bears fan - cool! What was your dad's cousin's name? When did he play for the Bears? position?
http://www.profootballhof.com/players/mainpage.cfm?cont_id=100201 http://www.collegefootballnews.com/Top_100_Players/Top_100_Players_49_George_Connor.htm played a loooong time ago. The stories you hear about people getting painkiller shots and sent onto the field long ago are entirely true, and long-lasting effects are devastating. He's still alive and in reasonably good health but is not very mobile.
NBA - Them Rockets and The Warriors MLB - Athletic's NHL - Sharks (gotta' represnet the home teams, man) NFL - Err, I don't care
WOW He played offense/defense and he served in WWII, now that is a real man. He really dominated on the field.
