McGrady was one of my favorite players. However, this team has been the one I have supported my whole life. You can't grow up in this city and not like the Rockets. I love this team! But, there's something about Adelman's tenure as coach that has been bugging me. I don't think it will end well ultimately, but we'll see.

Sike, I'm a Rockets fan, I'll like the Rockets even more now that McGrady is gone.

my interest this season will depend a lot on who we get for t-mac. I'm losing interest in ariza and with c-bud on the bench i've been skipping some games. i have to admit i was excited to see tmac put in his 7 minutes

    lol, that's awesome.

Anyway, I never understood how someone could only follow one player. That's just sad.

Well-written poll. Don't need any more threads designed to continue the BBS civil war.

I was kinda upset when they traded Hakeem, the greatest player in Rockets history back in the days but I remain a Rockets fan thru out the years..........so there's no way Tmac can make me like the Rockets less.

I think we are further away from a championship without the Tmac/Yao led team...but we may have been just as far away with them given they are oft-injured. We need to find another great player to be a threat next season with Yao. Just bringing back Yao with this current team is not going to get it done imo. I'm still a Rockets fan but, given how far away I think we are from a championship and with the admitted failure now of the Tmac/Yao experiment, it's hard not to be discouraged and I admit my interest level has waned some. I still support the team but I don't think they will be a championship any time soon. They will go on being a good regular season team which we have been spoiled with for many years. They may even win another playoff series. But, I don't see them getting to the conference finals...let alone the finals...without adding another key player who can play up to a level that Tmac may have played at in the past. I like our team...but I'm not going to pretend they will bring home a championship trophy. It's going to take more than what we have now...or even with Yao back...imo. With some changes...either from a Tmac trade or in the off-season or in the draft, we could be a threat next season. But, if we stand pat with just adding Yao, then I still believe we are a component or two away from being any kind of threat to the teams that will compete for a championship.

I started off as an Olajuwon fan, not a Rockets fan. Became a fan of the Rockets when they drafted Hakeem.

If Hakeem had been drafted by Portland, I would have probably ended up a Trailblazers fan. Might have ended up a Rockets fan eventually anyway since I lived in Houston, but who knows.

Nothing wrong with picking your team because of a player... the key is not changing your team when the player is gone.

It's one of those Simmons fan rule things. ;)

I didn't vote because my selection isn't up there. I love the Rockets, but still wish the best for tmac wherever he ends up... as long as he's not playing us.

Like a lot of players before, I was a fan of McGrady but once he's gone he's gone. I alway support the jersey first then the players, been that way since I was a kid back in the 80s and it isn't gonna change now.
