T-mac being traded means one of three things: We get a straight out swap for star player (FOR EXAMPLE: Agent 0 for T-mac) We get some sort of package (FOR EXAMPLE: Kevin Martin + Trash for T-mac) We get alot trash (FOR EXAMPLE: Eddy Curry, Jared Jeffries, Nate Robinson) This means someone is either going to go with T-mac and SOMEONES minutes are going to drop. I don't see how trading T-mac will not reduce someones minutes and wreak chemistry as stated by Adelman unless we intend to not play anyone that we traded for (which is a distinct possibility). Whos minutes would you prefer to drop when a trade finally happens: Scola? Landry? Ariza? Battier? Brooks? Lowry? Hayes? Budinger? Anderson? These are the key men in our rotation at the moment. Bear in mind any trade we do will have a direct impact on our rotation next year with Yao. Personally I would prefer if Ariza, Battier to have their minutes dropped. As high as people are on Budinger I think we need a star Wing player. I don't want to trade for any bigs because personally I think we have the perfect balance (Yao, Anderson, Scola, Landry). My ultimate choice is to trade Battier with T-mac for someone who can be an all star. I don't know who it is but thats my preference for the current rockets team
The thing is for me, if Ariza and Battiers minutes drop this means Adelman has basically been out right lying because this would mean we got someone who was half decent and has changed our entire rotation including eating some of Cbuds minutes. I don't see someone out there that we could trade that could get someone like that, unless we rob someone ala Pau Gasol style. The best scenario no matter how i look at it, is we pick up New Yorks Trash, keep our current team, and attempt to sign someone half decent next year
I think it's becoming pretty damn clear Adelman has been out-right lying. All the B.S. about team chemistry and so on was just that- B.S. Adelman and possibly Morey as well have something personal with t-mac, they've actually wanted to trade him since last season, and all this was just for show to make it seem it was Tracy's fault. This is really the only explanation I can see for the way things have shaken out. Now, whoever we get to replace Tracy is going to be inserted in the lineup and mess up the sacred chemistry, but it won't be a problem cause it was never a problem in the first place.
Then if this is the case I would be advocating us picking up trash. Unless we pick up a All Star Center that is expiring (Chris Bosh is the only one that comes to mind) nothing will make this team better next season. I personally think a line up of : Yao/Anderson/Hayes Scola/Landry/Hayes Ariza/Battier/Cbud Ariza/Battier/CBud Brooks/Lowry is good enough. Battier however is easily the most expendable one out of the whole lot
Or a second Battier, I think three people in those two spots is how we've been playing them no? I just didn't add the minutes that Lowry also has in those spots with Brooks but basically we have 5 guys sharing three positions.
if the swap is for some SG/SF, then Ariza needs to lose some of his minutes...i believe he is playing near 39 minutes and is in the top 10 in minutes, he could/should be playing 30-34 minutes
Unless we trade for trash one of the rotation players will either go or lose all their minutes thats how i see it
Unfortunately that is probably true. Hopefully Morey doesn't cave too much when he makes the deal. (Which I don't think he will)
I voted for Ariza simply because he's playing the most minutes & is in a shooting slump. With the running hustling style of ball we're playing, no one needs to be playing more than 32/33 minutes in order to stay fresh. I hope we can get someone who can blend in with the team to accomplish this.
