Who'll be better in the long run? Griffin or Jefferson?

I think Eddie will be much better in the long run. But even if he doesn't I'd still rather have an average big man then a pretty good shooting guard. Big guys are hard to come by, while versatile 2's and 3's are a dime a dozen.

Talent wise Griffin is a franchise player. He can be a dominant rebounder, scorer, and shot-blocker and runs the floor. You can build a team around him, you can't say the same about Jefferson. Jefferson is the missing piece to a puzzle, Griffin IS the puzzle. The great thing is, you can say the SAME thing about Ming that you say about Griffin. Ming has as much potential as Griffin, maybe more so because of his size. Either way Griffin could be the answer to Kevin Garnett in a year or two.

I think both teams don't need to kick themselves for having made that trade. Jefferson seems like a great solid team player who should have a very good career in the NBA. That being said, I believe that Griffin has more potential and considering that the other two guys NJ got seem to turn out to be more or less throw-ins with low value, I believe the Rockets came out on top.

I think Griffin will be better as an individual player (stat-wise). Let's hope that it will result in more wins as well.

But you mentioned Eddie already. Wipe the record clean. Eddie is now #33 (at least until Rice leaves, and EG takes #41, like he originally wanted ;)).

In the long run, barring Danny Manning-like injuries/flameouts? Griffin, and it probably won't even be close.

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie (in my best Olajuwon imitation)! Of course I'm not being partial.

The Griffster! But, in a perfect world, I'd Like Jefferson on the Rockets along with him. I like Will's movie analogy. Heypartner, if Rudy is Coppola, let's hope we're not going to get Godfather-3! (Bleh, barf, aargh!) :p

Imagine Grififn and Jefferson on a Jason Kidd-run team?

WOW, that would be incredible. Especially if you put Eddie at C, K-Mart at PF, and Jefferson at SF. That would be an unbeatable team.
