I've read in multiple threads of people mentioning Gilbert Arenas as a possible player in a swap. If you guys dont know, Gilbert's contract might be the worst one in the whole league as of right now. He's got something in the neighborhood of 5yrs/85mill left, no way we would want to take that back. Besides his scoring ability/leadership has been in question ever since the return from surgery. I think Wiz would trade Arenas to anyone right now if there were any takers. Won't return to pre-surgery form imo.
I'd do the Tmac/Luis trade in a heartbeat. Then you start Kyle Lowry with Ellis in the back court and bring AB off the bench. Randolph comes off the bench with Landry starting. Ellis would be really good in the motion offense and getting out on the break with Lowry pushing the ball. I love Luis, but this is a trade I could live with. The Rox are very unlikely to get this kind of quality in any trade they make for Tmac.
I've wanted McGrady gone ever since I saw a smile on his face when we were down by 40 to the Mavs so I can't wait for this to happen ... McGrady doesn't have the heart for this team
so.............. Does anyone want to call yahoo, Clutch, and some other people on this board liars still? The more one knows about the whole situation, the more you are drawn to support the team and not one particular player... I am a Rockets fan who happens to be a season ticket holder. I buy my tickets to support the TEAM
Morey: Hey Pat, there's no way Wade is signing with you guys next year......0% chance. Why don't you trade him to us now, and you'll receive a $23M expiring contract instead of having nothing when he walks away. Riley: Sounds good....let's do it! Wishful thinking
also, Morey doesn't HAVE to trade him. If there isn't a suffice swap available T-Mac might just be unhappy from the sideline...and who knows, maybe saves Hou some money by settling for a buyout so he can sign and help some team in they're playoff push (or at least thinks he can help). Basically, with Morey calling the shots, I trust it'll either be a good trade or no trade. and I can sleep easy each night knowing some of the trades being mentioned on this board have zero chance lol.
Biedrins is a legit double digit rebounder if he gets substantial minutes. He would be a fantastic addition to this year's team and a great, great backup to Yao in the future. He's young too so it's not impossible for him to become a 16/10 player with enough minutes down the road. If we someone did this trade this team suddenly has no real weaknesses.
I'm down for just clearing cap space for next year. Letting Mac expire and trading Battier or Ariza for an expiring puts us in a position to offer a max contract to someone.
at least it's over and we can move on. hopefully, we can get a good player for him..or a good draft pick. cya later, tmac. good luck to you. the yao ming/tracy mcgrady experiment ends in failure. now, it's brauny (yes..the paper towel guy played by Yao) man and the seven dwarves (we are the lollipop kids...the lollipop kids...the lollipop kids (who win)).
Come on guys, Brandon Roy, Chauncey Billups, or Chris Paul? We aren't getting any of them, otherwise I'm sure we'd have seen footage of Daryl Morey personally driving McGrady to the airport.
McGrady to leave Rockets, waiting on trade Tracy McGrady(notes) and the Houston Rockets have reached a mutual decision that allows him to leave the team while two sides try to facilitate a trade, likely ending the former All-Star guard’s tenure with the franchise, an NBA source said Monday. McGrady and his representatives met with team officials earlier in the day after Rockets coach Rick Adelman made it clear last week he had no plans to increase the guard’s minutes. McGrady then returned to Houston with Adelman’s blessing before the Rockets’ games in New Jersey and Cleveland. McGrady had averaged just under eight minutes in six appearances after missing the first 23 games of the season while recovering from microfracture knee surgery. He is expected to return to Chicago and work out with trainer Tim Grover. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...ug=aw-mcgradytrade1228089&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
I don't think Morey will not make a blockbuster. Maybe a trade just exchanging expiring contracts. Give me your problem for my problem and maybe a change of scenery does both teams well. Here is something that could work. Tracy McGrady and Joey Dorsey to the Bulls for Brad Miller, Jerome James, and Jannero Pargo. Tracy McGrady and Brian Cook to the Knicks for Larry Hughes, Darko Milicic, and Nate Robinson.
