The Rockets deactivated Tracy McGrady for their two weekend games and his return to the club doesn't appear close.

A pair of sources told Yahoo! Sports that after McGrady's agent, Bob Myers, and the Rockets finish talking after the next few days that the likely resolution will be McGrady leaving the team and returning to Chicago to work with renowned trainer Tim Grover.

Issues between McGrady and the organization intensified when he asked coach Rick Adelman why the team wouldn't increase his minutes. He's averaged roughly eight minutes per game since returning from knee surgery.

"I don't understand their plan," one NBA coach said Sunday. "Why bring him back at all to play eight minutes? They should send him away because it's obvious Rick doesn't want him around."

The Rockets are rumored to be willing to take back long-term contracts to rid themselves of McGrady.

    The saga continues...

I'm sick of this TMac drama, give me Houston Rockets to watch and end this nonsense.
Let him stay or go away, it doesn't matter right now, this is ruining chemistry.

Same here. Unless the Knicks throw in their 2011 first round pick, I would vomit if that rumored deal goes through.

Yup. It is seriously hurting my sleep...

Does DM have anything up his sleeve?

As good as we are, we are still pretty far away from being a championship team imo...

"The Rockets are rumored to be willing to take back long-term contracts to rid themselves of McGrady." If that was true, McGrady would have been traded last season. Something sounds "funny" about these articles on Yahoo.

Just swallow the pill. 23M expiring beats taking on any other contracts in future years. If teams want to dump some salary then they will have to be the ones at our doors with some assets to offer.

That doesn't mean they will take anything to get rid of McGrady. It means they are willing to take on a bad deal if it means they also get an impact player along with it. Obviously, nothing like that has come up.

I am not a big fan of Tracy but at this point I would prefer him over Trevor.
I really do dislike all this trade talk (especially coming from Yahoo!) but whatever happens,
I would prefer DM wait until it's closer to the trade deadline...I think we can get more for less come crunch time.

I don't want the Knicks deal even with the picks.

If we're willing to take back long-term contracts to get rid of McGrady...get long-term players that can help the team right now.

Go get Randolph and take Maggette's awful contract.

I could go along with long-term contracts of players that can help the team, even players that don't play positions we want (we can turn around and trade them, at least), just none of those deals that are 5 years at $10 million per, when the player's only worth half that. Just having him finish out the contract, lessening our team salary, would be a very bad deal. It's hard to build up to the greater talent amount of almost hitting luxury tax, without having bad contracts.

I am the most disappointed I have ever been in the current management team (i.e. Rick/Darryl). They have been very unprofessional in this situation. (Before the T-Mac haters swoop in, I acknowledge he has made some mistakes also).

Sad day in Rockets nation. :(

Thought the McGrady era was going to officially end May 2010 but guess the date got moved up to Dec 2009. The Rox might as well hang a FOR SALE sign around his neck and have an EBay auction for him.
