This is quite possibly the biggest iPhone related mishap I've seen from ATT. http://consumerist.com/2009/12/att-customer-service-new-york-city-is-not-ready-for-the-iphone.html
wow, that is nuts...I just bought a iPhone over the weekend due to my old phone's death. I would be irritated if I couldn't buy a phone I wanted.
According to gizmodo the reason for suspending NYC sales is probably online fraud prevention, not 'network frailty'.
Lol. AT&T is probably in full on panic mode. I can only image what the Christmas influx of new iPhone users has done to them. One step closer to Apple expanding to more carriers probably.
They are selling in NYC again. http://www.9to5mac.com/iPhone-nyc-3...c-MacAllDay+(9+to+5+Mac+-+Apple+Intelligence)
Those ATT commercials with Luke Wilson are terrible. They don't address the 3g coverage issue at all.
I read an article in the WSJ a couple of weeks ago talking about how ATT was going to start offering incentives for users to stay off the network during peak hours. Apparently more issues with the network bogging down because it can't support all its users. Sorry, no link. I read an actual printed news article.
